A police officer died after being stabbed on Tuesday morning during a burst of violence at a transit station outside the Pentagon, and a suspect was reportedly shot by law enforcement and died at the scene.
During a press conference this afternoon, Pentagon Chief of Police Woodrow Kusse said that one of his officers was attacked on a bus platform by Pentagon's Metro station at 10.37am.
He repeatedly declined to confirm the officer's death, or the suspect's killing.

Another day of violent chaos in Saddam on Potomac.
Assailant stabbed the police officer to death, so it was a stabbing and a shooting incident. Since the officer was stabbed, I will assume it was Islam linked. I'm going out on a limb a little, but we shall see.
The authorities have at least two reasons to not release details of the perpetrator right away. First, they believe that releasing the name right away will inflame tensions. Not sure I believe it as they tend to release name of white perps sooner than black or Muslim perps. Over that last 5 to 7 years people believe than generally the authorities release the name of a white perp immediately and release that of a minority perp grudgingly. Authorities di it on purpose and then they complain Trump is sowing discord.
Other reason for believing the perp was nonwhite and possibly muslim is that the perp has been dead for hours and hours and no name released.
People have been told to withhold releasing the name until spinmeisters and look at all the angles and decide how to spin it to advantage. Consideration is also being given to "news" organizations to dust off their OMG there will be a backlash narratives.
So 7 to 9 hours after the scene is secure, we still do not know then name. Rahm must really be sweating to figure out the right angle.
