DW: COVID pandemic could be over in a year, says Moderna chief
With increased supplies of vaccines globally, the pandemic should be brought under control by the second half of next year, Moderna Chief Executive Stephane Bancel has said.
Moderna Chief Executive Stephane Bancel said as vaccine production increased across the world, the pandemic could be over in a year.
"If you look at the industry-wide expansion of production capacities over the past six months, enough doses should be available by the middle of next year so that everyone on this earth can be vaccinated," he told the Swiss daily Neue Zürcher Zeitung.
"Boosters should also be possible to the extent required."

Based upon the historical pattern for pandemics this would be a reasonable assessment. The mid 2022 estimate put forth by WHO is reasonable though a bit optimistic in my considered opinion. If we assume this isn't a bio-weapon and no one in the leadership class is acting as though they think it is, I'd suggest an end date as sometime between March to June 2023.
ReplyDeleteIn contrast, the ramifications of the government response to this will be with us for decades. Furthermore it seems rather insane to force a very risky vaccine on the population that hasn't been properly tested to combat a pandemic that's going to be over in a year and a half!!
If this is a bio-weapon, as I've said before, the leadership class needs to tell us. Thus far their actions indicate they don't think it is. Of course if it is a bio-weapon the historical rules for how a pandemic works might not apply.

The are ballyhooing about 1 in 500 people dead from COVID. With the inflation of statistics it is less than 1 in 500 and even those are mainly elderly with comorbidities, who would have died anyway in a few months. So other than the control freak aspect, which is a wet dream for these guys, why are they so worried? That is when they are worried.
Of or when they are worried, would only makes sense if it were a bio-weapon.
Social security system was given a few more years of life because of COVID.

DeleteCovid going to stay around for a long time. Side note My friend dad and mom died to Covid so did a co-worker younger brother and dad. It's not a joke, but shovings shots and making people wear useless mask is a joke. 2024 pretty sure there be somthing new for elections.
