* Around 600 passengers arrived on two planes in Schipol Airport, Amsterdam, from Johannesburg yesterday
* Passengers have been put in quarantine hotels while authorities investigate whether they have been infected
* Countries across Europe closed their borders to countries in southern Africa yesterday to combat the variant
Alarms were today raised after one in ten passengers coming into the Netherlands from South Africa this morning tested positive for Covid and a wave of suspected cases of the new super-mutant variant were spotted in Europe.
Around 600 passengers arrived on two planes in Schipol Airport, near Amsterdam, from Johannesburg — the epicentre for the new strain that experts fear is 40 per cent more vaccine evasive than Delta — hours after travel bans were put in place.
Some 61 of those on the planes tested positive for the virus on PCR tests after they were stopped at the airport, despite having to provide proof of a negative lateral flow test taken within 24 hours before boarding the flight.

ReplyDeleteAll Democrats should be locked down for their own safety. They might get stressed out, if they are within yelling distance of another person. They need their safe spaces.
All normal people will take normal precautions such as hand washing, staying hoime when sick, etc...
Nailed it!! Normal precautions have worked fairly well for centuries and as far as pandemics go this one is relatively mild. Based upon prior experience the South Africans have been more trustworthy in this area than our leadership class. For now, I'll go with what he says.
DeleteFortunately in the US we have a few "red state" governors who are refusing to play their game. In TX we are able to function with a high degree of confidence that we aren't going to be "locked down" again as part of standard operating procedure.
"...or people ate committing fraud." This is my take on this. The Europeans are likely using the PCR tests that the US uses or something similar that tends to yield false positives. The more false positives that can be generated the more fear that can be whipped up.
ReplyDeleteLarge margin? Well, I guess you are right if you count ballot stuffing.
ReplyDeleteWow the person who poster November 28, 2021 at 2:35 PM sounds like a flaming asshole! typical democrap I suppose.
