New York Times: Iran Forcefully Clamps Down on Protests Against Growing Water Shortages

For two weeks the Iranian government tolerated growing protests over scarce water supplies in the central Iranian city of Isfahan, watching them grow as restaurants served demonstrators free soup and barbers offered free haircuts.

State television even aired interviews with farmers discussing their grievances. But after the protests spilled over to at least one other city, the predictable happened on Friday: The government violently cracked down.

WNU Editor: I have not been giving the proper coverage of these protests when they started over two weeks ago. But this unrest is escalating, and the Iranian authorities are trying their best to temper it down.

  1. Why doesn't the CIA do something useful like support a revolution toppling the government in Iran? But no, those fucking CIA idiots are too busy targeting conservatives in the USA, and running drugs and underage prostitution blackmail schemes ala Jeffrey Epstein. That is why the CIA must be disbanded. I am starting to think the only hope for the nation to survive is for the next Republican President to declare martial law, suspend habeous corpus, and use the military to round up all the left wing traitors that have been working to ruin the nation. I mean the media, the deep state, and the democrat party support groups nationwide.

  2. I guess "temper it down" kind of works. Were you looking for the phrase "tamp it down" ?

No room to talk, since I only mastered one language.
