Germany's military has honoured outgoing Chancellor Angela Merkel with an eclectic mix of music she picked out herself, which included a song by an anti-Communist punk rocker.
In the Grand Tattoo ceremony, scaled back due to coronavirus restrictions, the Bundeswehr staff music corps played a hymn, a 1960s song that includes the words 'I can't acquiesce, can't make do, I still want to win', and a 1970s punk rock hit.
After 16 years in office, Merkel is due to be succeeded as chancellor by Social Democrat Olaf Scholz next week.

ReplyDeleteThe Germans elected her, we elected obamma and his followup.
How do you know germans elected her?
ReplyDeleteShe became chancellor under suspect circumstances, grew up in Russia controlled east bloc of Germany and suddenly rose to power, and she seemed to do a LOT for Putin
Oh shut up, i live in germany and she was by far the most popular chancellor of Germany.
ReplyDeleteTraitor
ReplyDelete@908 she's on the wrong side of history and so are you, if you still support her now
ReplyDeleteShe betrayed humanity and freedom and perhaps Germany too under the great reset
And if you think she's different.. my God have you learned nothing?
Whatever you may think, the numbers don't lie, everyone liked her including myslef. She was by far the best chancellor I ever had and she led the country through some hard times without fully destroying the country

Merkel is a royal fuck up!
Hardest thing economically was surviving the 2008/2009 recession. All countries did that.
All Merkel had to do was go full frontal Leftist and attack business and thereby by kill the goose that lays the golden egg.
So you are giving Merkel credit for not going FDR on the business community?
