Axios: Burnout, money, concern drive Harris turnover
Burnout, better opportunities and concern about being permanently branded a "Harris person" is driving some of the turnover in Vice President Kamala Harris's office, people familiar with the situation tell Axios.
Why it matters: Harris is not only a heartbeat from the presidency but, by virtue of her office, the presumed 2024 frontrunner if President Biden doesn't seek re-election. There's been an inordinate amount of disarray — and, now, turnover — throughout her tenure.
Her allies say she has a terrific chance to reset and downplay the early stumbles. But top Biden officials privately roll their eyes at her team, and want to see smoother, more effective leadership.

ReplyDeleteBut lets put a number on it. There is a metric.
There has to be a turnover rate that can be calculated. Most people have read of the coming and going of spokespeople and Chief of staff. A spokes person lasting more than 2 years is exceptional. Psaki is exceptional. She is cold blooded.
Are they talking about the high turnover rate of Kamala to put pressure on her and make life increasingly difficult or merely commenting on a higher than normal rate?
Were the former president's many appointees and firings in disarray?
ReplyDeleteTrump's administration had the highest turnover of any administration in history.
ReplyDeleteBeing a "Harris person" means that one worked for the first female and African American Vice President. This should be a position of honor that people would clamor for. When she embarked on this, she had a vast amount of goodwill from the American people which should have made it very hard for her not to be loved. Barack and Michelle Obama tapped into this and are still doing so today and are vastly well loved by pretty much all Americans. Why can't Ms. Harris do the same thing? The monumental level of incompetence it would take for her and her team to screw this up borders on astronomical.
