Russian troops engaged in a frenzy of 'exercises' on the Ukrainian border yesterday hours after Vladimir Putin told US and NATO to 'go to hell', stoking fears of an invasion.

The drills come amid claims 'mass grave' sites, each capable of accommodating 100 bodies, are being prepared along the Ukrainian border ahead of a possible invasion by Russian forces.

Moscow has for weeks been massing tens of thousands of troops, tanks and artillery pieces along its eastern flank, sparking fears of an invasion, though the Kremlin has insisted it is merely a defence force.

  1. So a whole lotta mil drills and materiel massing in a historical vector of aggression. Any other attack tells like medical unit movements or large reserve call ups? Any large change in social media traffic or internet shut downs?

/I read somewhere that those things are strong indicators of an actual invasion - as opposed to an exercise.

  2. What worries the most is Putin's health. We don't know much about it, but we do know that his health is not in the right direction. Having said that, does Putin want to “fix” the Ukrainian problem before he cannot handle it? A fight against Ukraine might be short, but it would be longer than we think. Quick "involvement" will shorten the question.

  3. Surprised at the lack of analysis from the WNU editor. I guess he has to be careful with his prorussian praise considering he has a lot of family in Russia.

This was a fascinating interview with Putin. A normally reserved Putin did not hold back. Angry and ranting, he showed insight into his motivations as he ranted about Lenin, about the lost territories of the Soviet Union, how he blames NATO for the breakup.

Here's a man who in a rare moment who just showed the madness of his mind. This was the most unhinged I've seen of Putin. You can tell he's still stuck in the past.

I think we should all be worried.

  6. Brandon is not the problem. The problem is the party that installed him in the display window.

If Joe Biden died in his sleep due to old age it would be a God send. And yet the evil party would go through several iterations of musical chairs trying to hold onto power.

The evil party was built with help from Moscow, so I think we owe them a little something with intertest of course.
