RT: US threatens Russia with unprecedented sanctions
The White House is coordinating a package of ‘high-impact’ restrictive measures to slap on Moscow in case it invades Ukraine
If Moscow encroaches on Ukraine’s sovereignty, the US will impose sanctions against Russia like no one has ever seen before, Vice President Kamala Harris warned on Sunday.

Update #2: Amid Descent Into Irrelevancy, Kamala Harris Threatens Russia: "Sanctions Like You've Never Seen" (Zero Hedge)
WNU Editor: It is hard to take VP Harris seriously when she said that she cannot go into details on what those sanctions would be because it is "classified information".
Since those remarks Moscow has responded (see below).

Russia, always trying to acquire Nuland....
ReplyDeleteWhat we do here: belittle the present VP
ReplyDeleteWhat we do not do here: note that the congress passed sanctions against Russia though Trump did not want them.
sanctions that achieved nothing except help Russia develop ties with China
ReplyDeleteSanction that hurt the American pork industry, but benefitted Russia.
ReplyDelete3:50 is none too bright.
Sanctions clearly haven't worked and seem to have only strengthened Russia while weakening America's position.
ReplyDeleteDon't like Russian policy and want them to change course? Perhaps a starting point might be to recognize them as an equal power and act accordingly. When we try and act as a hyperpower while we aren't, it tends to not end well.
False claims that there were thousands of ballots cast in the names of dead Georgia voters can now rest in peace.
ReplyDeleteElection investigators found just four absentee ballots in the 2020 presidential election from voters who had died, all of them returned by relatives.
The State Election Board referred the cases to the attorney general’s office this month after investigators reviewed dozens of allegations. Almost all voters were found to be alive.
WNU,
ReplyDeletePutin et al already know what the sanctions could be. All of them. What they do not know is how likely the current administration is to implement any particular sanction.
Keeping the enemy guessing can be an important tool. Or it could be that White House Staff felt the need for the US to look tough and also for the administration to look tough. That is it was done for optics.
Joe was unavailable. You can dope a person only every so often. Kamala stepped up, because she needed an appearance that would make her look good.
A generic speech without details can work, but it is dependent on track record. The track record is horrible, so so-much for optics. RCP average showed a positive trend heading into Thanksgiving until almost Christmas Eve. People wanted to put the world into the back ground. It would be nice to decouple the elements of data and look for such a seasonality component over past years. Anyway that is what I think happened with the trend.
