Daily Mail: Revealed: Putin sent 'several' submarines each capable of carrying 16 ballistic missiles into the north Atlantic hours after putting his nuclear forces on 'special' alert over Ukraine invasion

* British navy chiefs believe it was an act of 'posturing' rather than an all-out threat

* Western intelligence has kept Kremlin's nuclear arsenal under surveillance

* Russia's nuclear stockpile is believed to the world's largest at 4,477 warheads

* The Pentagon said there is no indication Russia is preparing to use the weapons

* But that has done little to reassure world leaders, particularly in the West

Vladimir Putin sent 'several' submarines into the north Atlantic hours after putting his nuclear forces on 'special' alert over its invasion of Ukraine, it has been revealed.

British navy chiefs believe Russia's decision to move the submarines, which are capable of carrying 16 ballistic missiles each, was an act of 'posturing' rather than an all-out threat.

Despite them returning towards Russia shortly afterwards, western intelligence agencies have kept the Kremlin's nuclear arsenal - believed to be the world's largest at 4,477 warheads - under constant surveillance.

Update: I have found no news on U.S. nuclear ballistic submarine deployment. Nor any news on U.K. nuclear ballistic submarine deployment.

Because both are chicken shit when facing a superpower. They are awesome when bombing third world countries.

    1. I have a different "take" on this. During the Ukraine War the US has actually gotten fairly good at keeping secrets. My thoughts are most likely one of the following. 1.) US and UK nuclear subs are deployed and th3 governments simply aren't advertising it. 2.) The unity among the "west" in support of Ukraine and against Russia has been unprecedented. Based upon this close coordination it may have been determined that it made more sense for France to deploy theirs here at this time as opposed to the US and the UK deploying theirs now.

I think 1 is the most likeky. Far from being "chicken shit" the risks being taken by our leadership class here is absolutely extraordinary.

  2. The US, I assume, much like Israel, always has to nuke armed subs at sea and moving about. Always. But they do not surface and wave to passing cruise ships to let them know they are in service.

Wow Fred, someone makes a ridiculous agiprop statement like the above and your response at 5:26 is the best you can do?

    1. What's ridiculous about the statement I made? Very respectfully if you haven't observed the unprecedented close coordination between the US and it's "western allies" you've either been asleep or have been living under a very large rock.

Typically US leadership likes to boast about tough they are. In normal times, they would want to boast about our big bad nuclear subs at a time like this. Furthermore if one follows this closely as I've tried to it becomes obvious US coordination with Ukraine in this is greater than is generally known and most of this has been kept out of mainstream media.

It could be that after multiple humiliations in Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria, and elsewhere CIA and Military leadership learned a thing or two!! I truly hope so.

For once I agree with Fred. I'm not sure that's ever happened before. I may need to mark this one down.😀

Assuming our leadership class has actually learned something this would be gratifying. If they would have learned it sooner, I believe we would have avoided this altogether. I hoped and prayed the wise leadership of former president Trump would have been embraced and supported. Unfortunately it wasn't.

Regardless of how likely I think it actually is I truly hope Ukraine prevails here. In this conflict, they seem to be the relative "good guy" here and they're on our side in Cold War 2.

  6. It is interesting imo. I couldn't find any info on current us sub deployments to the area either. Not sure if that's SOP or not, if it is that's probably good.
