Pentagon Cancels Test Of Its Minuteman III Intercontinental Ballistic Missile To Lower Nuclear Tensions With Russia

Daily Mail: BREAKING: US Military cancels test of its Minuteman III intercontinental ballistic missile to lower nuclear tensions with Russia

* The U.S. has canceled its test of the Minuteman III intercontinental ballistic missile after having delayed the test earlier this month

* An Air Force spokesperson said the decision to cancel the test comes in a bid to lower nuclear tensions with Russia during the war in Ukraine

* Russian President Vladimir Putin said in February that his nation's nuclear forces should be put on high alert, raising fears of a potential nuclear war

* When the U.S. first delayed the missile test officials said it was important to 'bear in mind the risk of miscalculation and take steps to reduce those risks'

* The next Minuteman III test is scheduled to take place later this year

The U.S. Military has canceled a previously scheduled test of its intercontinental ballistic missile in a bid to lower nuclear tensions with Russia during the war in Ukraine.

The Air Force confirmed the cancellation of its Minuteman III test after Moscow announced earlier on Friday that it would militarily strengthen its Western borders with Europe.

The U.S. had previously delayed the ICBM test on March 2 when Russia said it was putting its nuclear forces on high alert.

  2. Biden's first executive action was also to stop the keystone pipeline and make you dependent on Saudi Arabia and Russia, while destroying tens of thousands of jobs

That was his *first* executive action on day one when you allowed this crook to be "elected"

You don't have a democracy if you accept this

  3. Putin & the oligarchs certainly have not tried to lower the temperature. If one side is consistently 'attempting' to lower the temperature and the other side isn't, the latter side will hold the former in contempt and engage in more brazen actions. But hey, Blinken is great at feeding the beast.

The launch should go ahead. The Americans should communicate with Russia privately and also tell the world publicly.

  5. This decision and the reasoning behind it seems to be beyond bizarre. Tensions with Russia haven't been higher than they are right now within the last 50 years. The risk of a nuclear confrontation with Russia is quite high right now. It would seem that now more than ever we would want to make sure all aspects of our nuclear triad will work if we need them. Instead of canceling these tests we should be going through with them and expanding them.

For years now the US leadership class hasn't worried about decreasing Tensions with Russia and have in fact gone out of their way on numerous occasions even to the point of making up lies about Russian election interference and Trump/Russia collusion. They've even gone out of their way to undercut and utterly drstroy a very careful and meticulous diplomatic initiative that had real prospects of ending Cold War. After all of that to now worry about tension with Russia is very strange.

Once we get past the Zelensky fan club that dominates US media coverage, perhaps the sudden desire to reduce Tensions makes sense. First of all we're MUCH more heavily involved in this than would be known if our sole guide is the US media and the war goes very badly for Ukraine.

Recently we've had team Biden say we're training Ukrainian forces only to have the Pentagon denying when clearly we are training their forces. Now we have this. With Ukraine losing badly and America into this thing beyond our proverbial necks assuming there are any adults left in our leadership class they are going to be VERY interested in trying to reduce tension with Russia. When viewed with this understanding these actions might make sense at this point.

    1. So far it has. When the fall comes, it's going to come fast. I would liken it to a dam bursting.

This is my assessment based upon careful analysis. It could be in error. I actually hope it is. Based upon what I know I hope Ukraine prevails even if I don't think that's likely. I probably wouldn't base foreign policy on such an unlikely event. I would liken thus to basing one's financial future on winning the lottery. Ukraine's odds while low are probably a bit better than winning the lottery but I think the idea is clear.

    2. I noticed the link here is to the NY Times. I don't subscribe to that news source. Others summarize it quite well. It appears to me to be little different than the Zelensky/Ukraine cheering section that permeates most of our media.

For more thoughtful analysis I'd suggest the "Task and Purpose" YouTube videos the editor links to regularly. As of a couple of days ago, they believe this could go either way. While I think they're overestimating Ukraine and underestimating Russia and I don't think they're appreciating the subtle shift of the neutrals away from America's position, at least their analysis is a serious one.

If I want a cheering section, I will attend a sporting event or watch one with friends and/or family. It's unwise in the extreme to set foreign policy based upon such superficial analysis.

  7. IF you were the real deal, which you are not, you would have hobbies like table top gaming. Your supposed civilian, sage armchair status is anomalous. You are a fraud.

Trolling is a failed art form.

  8. You say I'm a fraud yet you make no attempt to contact me. I'm obvuously not a fraud which would become evident if you made even the most basic attempts to follow the evidence.

If there's a fraud here, it's not me. I'd say it is you.

Insults really aren't necessary. I've rendered my analysis of this situation based upon careful observations. Can they be wrong? Of course. Naftali Benet and other sincere individuals have done the same.

Before slandering someone by hurling "fraud" at them, take the time to actually "find out." Get to know them. I've made this easy for you. You can't or won't follow the evidence.

  9. Troll should not that as Russia retreats from Kyiv to throw more weight east, so will Ukraine. Sure Kyiv will advance north, but maybe not all the way to the border. They will form up, dig in, and siphon troops off to fight in the east. Kyiv as interior lines. That is an advantage. The Russian road net not being bombed can make up for it (?).

The Russian are interdicting the movement of Ukraine units and supplies. They are using a lot of missiles for it. They used around 1,100. Are they running out? Interdicting Ukrainian operational movement might be a lot harder.

The Russian are running out of usable equipment. The Ukrainians have Uncle Sam and other paying. How is China working out for you Poster?

Maybe you should look up the difference between shelf life and service life. Maybe you should learn about the shelf life of various rubber types.

I expected the Russians to do better. The more I leaned of military science, manufacturing and logistics I switch my opinion of the best WW2 tank from the Panzer 5 to the T-34. Recently I have read that the concept and/or operation of Soviet theory of Deep Battle was better than Blitzkrieg. I would not that advancing form the starting point more than a little takes logistics. Those logistic during WW2 came from Lend lease trucks and jeeps. Without Lend lease would the Russians have bene able to use their Deep Battle theory?

I think the Russians have failed in logistics. That is why I think they didn't get 3 times as far in the the first week.

I reads about the differences in the Russian prep and conduct for the first and second Chechen Wars. The Russians were much better trained and prepared for the grudge match. They gained their objects in the 2nd war unlike the failure of the first and had lower casualties. So I thought institutionally that they had learned. I was wrong.

  10. The Ukrainians have Uncle Sam. Uncle Dam is beyond spent. As for China it isn't working out for me as I won't Ukraine to me. China and the neutrals know this isn't happening. I hope for a Ukrainian victory but know it ain't happening. Hope isn't something I'll base the survival of my loved ones on!!

    1. Thia shouid have read "as for China, I'm not China and don't support them. I want Ukraine to win here."

As for their policy, they haven't exactly sided with Russia on Ukraine. They abstained on the UN Resolution condemning Russia. The fully correct term to describe their policy is probably "ambiguous."

Back ho the topic at hand, we are in a shooting war with Russia that could go nuclear at any moment. We definitely need to be testing all aspects of our nuclear deterrent. Canceling this now us beyond stupid.

The reasoning given makes no sense unless we acknowledge the war isn't going as well for Ukraine as the Zelensky cheering section tells us it is.

Our government hasn't worried about increasing tensions with Russia in years. In fact they've gone out of their way to do it nany times with team Biden being a major instigator of this.

Obvuously the orders to cancel the tests didn't come from his team. They'd want the tests to go forward with Biden personally overseeing them. They had to be overridden here to postpone these tests. Knowing the situation top Pentagon officials like many foreign fighters will naturally want to distance themselves from this.
