National Interest: Russia Appears to Be Repositioning Its Forces Toward the Donbas
The intensity of the Russian effort to capture Mariupol may reflect a deliberate effort to create a coastal corridor linking the Ukrainian coastline.
After Russia’s convoy stalled outside of Kyiv, Russian forces do appear to be moving east and north in what could be seen as a decided shift in emphasis in advance of an escalated ground attack.
Pentagon officials say Russia’s “repositioning” of small portions of its forces surrounding Kyiv likely pertains to a deliberate shift to the east, meaning Putin may in fact be seeking to secure gains in the Donbas, where pro-Russian separatists have been fighting Ukrainians for many years.
"It's clear the Russians want to reprioritize their operations in the Donbas area [and] that could be one destination, but again, [it's] too soon to know,” Pentagon spokesman John Kirby told reporters on Thursday.

WNU Editor: This probably was always the plan .... Russia aims to capture eastern, southern Ukraine - Zelensky (Jerusalem Post).
Update: Retired Gen. Wesley Clark in the above video is recognizing what WNU pointed out a few days ago. The focus of the war will now be in the east. My prediction is that the next big battle will be in the city of Kramatorsk.

ReplyDeleteDude, until these reports are corroborated and verified, everything coming out of Ukraine has to be treated with skepticism.
A lot of Osint Twitter is dubious at best.
Wasn't Wesley Clarke wanted to start WW3 in Pristina, Kosovo?

IDK what is going to happen. But if the economy keeps being a dog and Joe Biden stays underwater, if the situation in Ukraine stabilizes some and the longer goes on, Joe or at least his dog handlers will want a win. They will become bolder and supply more and a better mix of weapons.
They will do it obviously to take the eye off the economy.

ReplyDeleteWNU author doesn't tend to post, or if he does, attach his opinions to posts that go against his often prevailing and pushed view that Russia are the 'lesser evil'.
He has a lot of russian investment/interests + 'contacts' and he straddles the fence as best as he can, but does a really bad job in situations like this where it is clearly Russia at fault.
As for those claiming misinformation and such in relation to war crimes, WNU previously and quite quickly posted up an article (attached with his opinion) concerning Russian POW's being murdered in cold blood by Ukrainian soldiers. No attempt of verification was made there, yet he posted it as if it was gospel truth.
That should tell you about his posting bias.
Surrender Bolshevik genocidal maniacs or be annihilated!!!!!
