New US Marine Recruitment Commercial
WNU Editor: No woke messaging in this new recruitment video. What are your thoughts?
Slick video. Very much geared to the gamer set. Borrowed from the new Top Gun pretty heavily which is a good thing. But they need to loosely define who the enemy actually is - /and it ain't liquefaction. It's China, Iran and Russia in that order. Needed a Sukoi fighter or two in there with some familiar south pacific topography.
Google issued a warning to me 7 months ago on some of the language in the comments thread. It is only now that I have time to monitor what people say, and to delete the crazies should they come back.
There's someone with a potty-mouth on here already, attacking other commenters for no rhetorical reason. Perhaps the Chinese DO have it right with their social credit system. This mental case would be in a work-camp being slowly and meticulously restored to social health.
I liked this ad. Potentially a little ridiculous with the liquifaction or whatever. That is not a nascient technology. But skeet-shooting drones is, and it improved from there. Still, hope that they didn't spend too much money on it--and the best Marines commercial I remember growing up was where the process of creating a Marine dress sword was shown from steel to polished sword in the hands of a Marine in dress uniform, with a voiceover extolling the process of creating him.
Nice add. Traditional Marine add focusing on combat service. On a personal level...Unimpressed due to what is happening accross all Services. "The Glory that was Rome."
