Reuters: White House Vows Response if Russia Attacks U.S. Satellites
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Any response on U.S. infrastructure will be met with a response, the White House said on Thursday after a senior Russian foreign ministry official said Western commercial satellites could become legitimate targets for Russia if they were involved in the war in Ukraine.
White House spokesman John Kirby, speaking to reporters, added that publicly available information shows Russians have been trying to pursue anti-satellite technologies.

WNU Editor: No mention on what that response would be.
Putin keeps probing to see what he can get away with. Yesterday, it was a dirty bomb. Today, it’s satellites. It won’t take much of a miscalculation from either side to send this thing escalating.
ReplyDeletePractically all DOD satellites are used to support Ukraine, it’s hardly just Starlink. Did the USA attack Russian military when their pilots were shooting down US jets in Vietnam or Korea?
ReplyDeleteNo. We can proxy war without a nuclear exchange.
I mean if Russian is okay with its enemy being supplied by nato, things can be stretched pretty far without issue it seems. At peacetime this would be a call for ww3 from Russia. A red flag.
Deletethis ain't vietnam
DeleteThe response? A few mean tweets on not to cross the next red line.
ReplyDeleteMusk's satellites are highly maneuverable. And possibly could evade an attack. Plus there's so many of them.
ReplyDeleteBoth Russia and China apparently consider them a serious threat to their own sats. Everyone's seen video of those low orbit constellations zooming by. The retasking of Starlink is a quantum leap from Keyhole.
You could argue that Starlink is a 2500+ orbital squadron of 600LB guided suicide drones. /in addition to cool free internet (for Ukraine)
SPACE,
BUMPER,
CARS,
R,
do you mean that it's much easier with star-link, or with 'Keyhole'?
Deleteif starlink, can they really increase in altitude, also, to strike Russian or enemy sattelites?
i don't have a problem with Space Wars.
if its a space war...how will the media fake news photograph it
Deleteanimation of course
DeleteIf Obama's cush life is threatened, the US response will be severe. What the paid shill Kirby says is irrelevant.
ReplyDeleteIt is like the US has a prime minister and a ceremonial president like European countries.
Senile Grandpa is the ceremonial president.
Obama is the behind the curtains PM.
Or you can think if Obama as the shikken or shogun.
This why WNU disables comments lol.. why is Obama involved
DeleteI thought they brought Osama to justice already?
Delete9:50 PM
ReplyDeleteI meant that starlink is easier to task. And China thinks starlink sats can maneuver to hit other sats using their collision avoidance system (gas thrusters).
I don't think they have gas thrusters. And if they did you'd get one chance to hit
Deletethanks for clarification--maybe we will see what's what, some day soon. Remember musk is the guy who lands his booosters tail-first, a neat little trick.

ReplyDelete1) everyone knows Joe Biden is not running things.
2) Obama stated that eh would like to run things form the background or shadows,.
3) Early in Joe's 'presidency' he called Obama every day. It is almost like after 35 years of previous government service in DC, Joe had not learned the ropes yet.

You think Ron Klain is running Joe and not Obama? Not happening/.
Is Klain an Obamanite?
DeleteIs Klain an Obamite.
ReplyDeleteIs Medvedev Putin's bitch?
