China Expands Lockdowns As COVID Cases Rise

CNBC: Beijing grinds to a near halt as China’s capital city battles Covid with more lockdowns

* More and more apartment compounds in Beijing on Friday forbade residents from leaving for at least a few days.

* “You constantly hear of someone going into lockdown and you have this constant feeling that you’re going to be next,” Joerg Wuttke, president of the EU Chamber of Commerce in China, said Friday.

* It was not clear how many people were affected at a city level, and to what degree stay-in-place measures were being enforced.

BEIJING — China’s capital city is grinding to a near standstill as Covid controls spread. More and more apartment compounds in Beijing on Friday forbade residents from leaving for at least a few days. That’s on top of a growing number of bans on business activity, which have forced gyms to close and restaurants to halt in-store dining. “This morning most of our 30+ staff reported their communities went into a 7-day lockdown,” James Zimmerman, partner in the Beijing office of Perkins Coie, said on Twitter Friday. He said a day earlier, the firm had to tell all its employees to work from home.

WNU editor: All of my friends and contacts in China believe that in the next few weeks if the case numbers continue their upwards trajectory, Beijing will order almost the entire country to be put under lockdown for a few weeks, if not longer.

Needless to say. Everyone is scrambling right now to make sure that they have enough food and essentials stockpiled to last a long time.

  1. Since Covid is a bio strategic crowd control weapon that was successfully tested last year domestically, this operational use comes as no surprise. The CCP must be very concerned about their situation.

  2. The CCP is turning China into North Korea. More and more people are disgusted with Kim Jong-un and the whole North Korean system. People are being smuggled out of North Korea or defying the state by smuggling in basic necessities. Necessities which North Korean cannot get enough of include coal and basic antibiotics. North Korea will fall. China will also fall if Xi persists in fighting the common cold this way.

The spike protein variant of COVID might be more infectious or efficient than that of other corona virus, but COVID is still just a corona virus.

COVID does not hurt children fewer than 350 died in the Us and most is not nearly all of those had very serious underlying condition like cancer.

COVD gives you a shitty, kick-you-in-the-seat-of-your-pants cold, but it is not a killer unless the government, where you live determines that it has to be one.

What is it with Xi and the CCP. These elderly statesmen fear dying so much that they would risk destroying the supply chain and killing their countries for a few more say of life?

Or is it that fear of saying combined with COVID being an excuse to control people and eliminate dissent?

The US government did almost everything wrong from pushing remdesvir to denying hydrocloroquine and invermectin. Remdesivir is highly toxic to the liver and it killed more people than it "saved". Those are the sins of the US government. It is way an leftist academic asked for a COVID amnesty.

Is the CCP afraid of the citizenry for its past COVID sins so it is doubling down?

  3. I hope their own pox decimates the country.

  4. That pox may have been a joint US, French and Chinese effort.

The French literally paid for the lab building.

The Americans (Fauci and cabalists) funded a portion of the research.

Now did the virus escape or did the CCP purposefully release it with or without the US's consent?

  6. How long till they have a real super bug out there?

  7. A real superbug? You have been reading too many tabloids and comic books. Consider the bugs and consider the populations.

  8. Does anyone have an answer as to why they are doing this? Over and over again....These lock downs seem to go around in circles in China. But why? Why do they insist using lockdowns when it seems that tactic does not work well?

Look at Sweden. No real lock downs and a manageable instance of the disease. But the Chinese and Australians? It is like these guys think they are fighting the "omega man" disease or the medieval plague. Just plain nuts.

    1. The Lock down is the goal for this CCP crowd control bio weapon.

  9. The final results showed that the antiviral treatment was beneficial, consistent with the preliminary findings. Patients who received remdesivir were quicker to recover, which was defined as being medically stable enough to be discharged from the hospital. The median recovery time was 10 days with remdesivir compared to 15 days for the placebo group. Patients given remdesivir were more likely to have improved by day 15.

Remdesivir also improved mortality rates for those receiving supplemental oxygen (4% with remdesivir versus 13% with placebo at day 29 of treatment). All-cause mortality among all patients was 11% with remdesivir and 15% with placebo at day 29, but this difference between the treatment groups was not large enough to rule out chance. The preliminary findings hadn’t shown an effect on mortality.

  10. 8:39 AM sure does look like Fred posting.

A straight rip off without quotes and without a link the original article.

Final report confirms remdesivir benefits for COVID-19

The same FDA that has approved Remdesivir is still approving vaccine for COVID on an emergency use authorization. After 2 years?????

The only vaccine, which they did approve, the Pharma company refuses to put on the market. So no one is on the hook for anything. No Pharma. Not the FDA.

And Fred puts his faith in the FDA.

Look at the date Fred. It is Oktober 2020

Could you not search the National Institute of Health for something a little more current?

I did. I found some MD suck ups, who protested or so much about their obese patient. So they are laying the blame or the suggestion of any hepatic malfunction on the door step of obesity and not their drug of choice.

Here is a much, much better article:

The Strange Story Of Remdesivir, A Covid Drug That Doesn’t Work

Given that remdesivir is expensive and doesn't seem to save lives, does it have any value? Maybe — but not as a medicine itself. Recent research suggests scientists should at least keep studying how it works in order to develop better drugs.

The article is written by a journalist with a PhD in evolutionary biology. It s worth the price of admission. That is it is worth the time it takes to read it.

Here is the very important takeaway:

"In fact, Gilead Sciences has already isolated a compound similar to remdesivir, GS-441524, which costs less and is easier to manufacture. It's also simpler to administer: while remdesivir must be injected, GS-441524 could be ingested in pill form. More of the molecule reaches the lungs — the main site of infection — too, which led researchers to state that "GS-441524 is superior to remdesivir for Covid-19 treatment." "

Fauci and others are still on the hook by forcing Remdeivir and denying ivermectin and hydrochloroquine.
