Politico: Lagarde: ‘Sick’ Putin behind Europe’s inflation crisis
ECB chief describes Russian president’s ‘flashing, freezing eyes’ in RTE interview.
The European Central Bank is having to raise interest rates because of inflation caused by Russian President Vladimir Putin's war in Ukraine, ECB President Christine Lagarde said.
"That's what he [Putin] is trying to do, cause chaos and destroy as much of Europe as he can," Lagarde said during an appearance on RTE's Late Late Show in Ireland.
"This energy crisis is causing massive inflation which we have to defeat," she said.
"Anybody who is behaving in that way has to be driven by evil forces," said Lagarde of Putin, adding that the "sick" Russian president is a "terrifying person."

WNU Editor: European Central Bank President Christine Lagarde is also making it very clear that European interest rates are going to continue to rise .... ECB must keep raising rates even if recession risks rise, Lagarde says (Reuters).
Yes he is evil. He supports the Orthodox Church ,considers marrige a sacred act and supports the traditional family. The EU? You all know the degenerates they support. The US? Yes the Lbgt Embassy flys the stars and stripes as well as its normal rainbow flag in support of diversity no matter how illogical or perverted it is.
ReplyDeletefair point
DeletePutin supports the Orthodox Church for reasons of morale, propaganda and espionage.
ReplyDeleteIf Putin supported the family, then why does he use half measures or throw sops? If Putin was successful, where is the birth rate at 2.1 or 2.1+?
Christine Lagarde is a fair haired child. How much is her doing and how much is the system? French high society is worse than the American blue bloods that attend the Ivy League schools.
She went to Paris Nanterre University Sciences Po Aix. If Christine has a boo boo, it is cleaned up.
Criminal Conviction of negligence in allowing the misuse of public funds
On 3 August 2011, a French court ordered an investigation into Lagarde's role in a €403 million arbitration deal in favour of businessman Bernard Tapie.[84] On 20 March 2013, Lagarde's apartment in Paris was raided by French police as part of the investigation.[85] On 24 May 2013, after two days of questioning at the Court of Justice of the Republic (CJR), Lagarde was assigned the status of "assisted witness", meaning that she herself was not under investigation in the affair.[86] According to a press report from June 2013, Lagarde was described by Stéphane Richard, the CEO of France Telecom (a former aide to Lagarde when she was finance minister), who was himself put under formal investigation in the case, as having been fully briefed before approving the arbitration process which benefitted Bernard Tapie.[87][88]
In 2013, the press revealed a letter seized by investigators during a search of Christine Lagarde's Paris home, in which she appears to express her full allegiance to former President Nicolas Sarkozy: "Use me for as long as it suits you and suits your action and your casting. (...) If you use me, I need you as a guide and as a support: without a guide, I risk being ineffective, without a support I risk having little credibility. With my immense admiration. Christine L."[89]
Subsequently, in August 2014 the CJR announced that it had formally approved a negligence investigation into Lagarde's role in the arbitration of the Tapie case.[90] On 17 December 2015, the CJR ordered Lagarde to stand trial before it for alleged negligence in handling the Tapie arbitration approval.[91][92][93] In December 2016, the court found Lagarde guilty of negligence, but declined to impose a penalty.
I doubt she is the smartest person in the room. She however a political player.
Energy costs are the prime resource. More expensive energy will lead to increased costs/ inflation. However, there is more going on than just the price of oil and gas went up. It is also the result of European misrule. More so that than the cost of oil.
Human beef jerky
ReplyDeleteIt's the Euro She-Biden. A better talker, but shoveling the same BS as the demented one.
ReplyDeleteThe EU has been run by feckless progs for 20 years. ANd she's one of them. Conducting a collective of cradle to grave welfare and open borders. Milton Friedman once said, "You can have open borders or you can have the welfare state, but you cannot have both."
Now she's gaslighting (irony) ahead of a bitter cold winter. Where heating costs are only now becoming a reality - to avoid any accountability for the EU's predicament - in which will put many EU subjects at grave risk.

"conducting a collective of cradle to grave welfare and open borders. "
ReplyDeleteAdd to that a poor energy policy.
Typical. Blame someone else for 20 years of imbecilic policies. What else can they do?
ReplyDeleteIt's so childish and transparent
DeleteUS voted for these idiots
DeleteRussia is weak and losing in Ukraine, but Putin is evil and causing inflation everywhere.. didn't Lagarde claim recently she had no idea where inflation was coming from?
ReplyDeleteShe's switched to the ol' "it's the warlock on the other side of the swamp" rhetoric which has worked for tens of thousands of years, sad to say.
