The Biden administration on Tuesday approved a $1 billion arms sale to Qatar in a transaction unveiled during halftime of the key World Cup 2022 match in Doha between Iran and the United States.
The State Department announced it had signed off on Qatar´s purchase of 10 defensive drone systems, 200 interceptors and related equipment just as the second half of the US-Iran game began.
Qatar, along with other Gulf Arab states, faces threats from Iranian-backed proxies in the region.

This is all about the money. Duh!

Qatar has been punching way above it weight. Why? Is it because they are flush with
oil wealth or something else?
People complain about American involvement in Syria with the Kurds, rebels and jihadists. Well, Qatar may have been the first. Or they may have been taking orders.
When the US pulled out of Iraq in 2011, because Obama did not want the US there and so purposefully flubbed the the SOFA negotiation, the US troops left Iraq and went to the border of Jordan and Syria. Was it out of vengeance (We owe Syria big time for what they have done.) or DC profit?

And Qatar will continue to fuel China's industry. Surprised nobody in Washington put a stop to this.
