Reuters: White House keeping a 'close eye' on misinformation on Twitter
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The White House said on Monday it was monitoring social media platform Twitter, now under the stewardship of new Chief Executive Elon Musk, for misinformation.
"This is something that we're certainly keeping an eye on," said White House spokesperson Karine Jean-Pierre, when asked about Twitter becoming a vector for misinformation.
Jean-Pierre said it was the responsibility of social media platforms to "make sure that when it comes to misinformation, when it comes to the hate that we're seeing, that... they take action, that they continue to take action."

WNU Editor: What a laugh on the White House keeping a 'close eye' on Twitter. In my experience this White House is one of the worse purveyors of misinformation that I have ever seen from a US administration.

ReplyDeleteThe country is lucky to have Elon Musk at this juncture. Idealistic tech Gen-Xers like him, like Peter Thiel, and others (Chang? Tulsi?) hopefully will network and consolidate and articulate a principalled opposition to government over-reach in this and other areas so that we can adjust to a multi-polar world without tyranny in the U.S. and the West in general.
