The Hill: Officials say US forces killed almost 700 suspected ISIS members in 2022

U.S. forces killed almost 700 suspected Islamic State operatives in 2022, including the leader of the group, dozens of regional leaders and hundreds of fighters.

U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) said in a release on Thursday that it conducted 313 operations against ISIS over the past year, killing 466 operatives in Syria and at least 220 operatives in Iraq. Officials also detained 215 operatives in Syria and 159 operatives in Iraq.

  1. So the US kills more ISIS in 2022 than the Axis of evil (Russia, Syria & Iran) so they hit the US.

  3. American media, both legacy and independent are not covering this war so American leaders can say whatever they want.

  4. IDK Ron, should PJ media cover this war? How many stories do they cover in day? Which story that they cover should they move aside to cover Syria? There is only so much oxygen in the room and the culture and other wars consume it.

A paper like the NYT, Washington Post or the Daily Mail should cover it weekly.

I BTW was for Trump pulling out the troops. I said so many times at WNU. I think we should be in Syria and for at least one of the same reasons we are in Ukraine. the two statements are not contradictory. while I believe that we should be in Syria and that Trump is right in getting us out, I think we should have a debate as to why we are there.

For one killing them there is about the only defense, we have from them coming here. It is not like there is a border.

For another to help the Kurds or the Ukrainian and then to pull out would be a disaster. It would be like Lucy pulling the ball on Charlie Brown. Which people or nation could we tell them that we support them and we will not bug out on them.

I believe in a Kurdish state. Arabs, Iranians, Jews, and Turks all have their state. why can't the Kurds have one?

You can believe in one world government and still believe in a Kurdish state. I believe fragmentation to be somewhat beneficial. It can fragment and then re-coalesce due to reasons other than force.

The Assad government treated the Kurds somewhat nicely. A lot of it had to due with balance of power. The Assads could not afford to antagonize the Kurds to take much form them while the Sunni Arabs were displeased with Alawite rule. It was not out of goodness or compassion that the Assads treated the Kurds well.
