China Steps-Up Its Naval And Air Drills Around The Nansei/Ryukyu Islands In Response To Japan's Massive Incease In Its Defense Budeget

China cranks up attack drills around strategic islands in apparent response to Japan’s intent to double its defense spending

China has stepped up its naval and air drills around the Nansei/Ryukyu Islands, ratcheting tensions alongside a rapidly re-arming Japan. 

Japan News recently reported that a Chinese carrier battlegroup spearheaded by the Liaoning has been conducting naval drills simulating an attack on the Nansei/Ryukyu Islands since December 16, with the exercises set to end on December 26. 

The Chinese Communist Party-run Global Times identifies the ships as the Type 055 cruiser Lhasa, the Type 052D destroyer Kaifeng, the Type 903A replenishment ship Taihu, and the hull number 796 electronic reconnaissance vessel.

  1. Note to Japan's neighbors: WW2 ended over 77 years ago, Imperial Japan is gone, and is not coming back. Since it's China you need to be worrying about and not a long Since vanquished threat, the Japanese military build up should be actively encouraged.

    There's huge pressure on the US military. A build up of Japanese military forces that are capable of operating independently of America would be a huge blessing.

  2. Because of its continuous belligerent actions in the SCS, as well as NK's imbecilic leadership, they and they alone are responsible for Japan's increased defense budget. Neither the PRC nor NK know how to think this through, choosing rather to rely on bullshit propaganda. Both of them remain busy as ever making more, not fewer, enemies.
