Massive Fire And Explosion Destroys Shopping Mall In Moscow

Euronews/Reuters: One dead after fire ravages one of Russia's biggest shopping centres

Emergency services suspect that a "criminal" act is behind a major fire at one of Russia's biggest shopping centres on the outskirts of Moscow.

The blaze, which broke out on Friday morning, has left at least one person dead, according to Russian media reports.

It happened at Mega Khimki shopping centre, north of the Russian capital, around seven kilometres from Sheremetyevo International Airport.

"Firefighters are fighting a fire with an area of 7,000 m2 in the Moscow region," announced on Telegram the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations.

WNU Editor: The authorities believe it was deliberately started. Many on Russian social media are convinced this was a deliberate attack by Ukrainian saboteurs. Such is the state of Russia today that any event like this one is blamed on the war.

  2. What would cause multiple explosions like that at a shopping mall? doesn’t make any sense. Few pounds of C4 would do that though

  3. We have seen this movie before

"The Russian apartment bombings were a series of explosions that hit four apartment blocks in the Russian cities of Buynaksk, Moscow and Volgodonsk in September 1999, killing more than 300, injuring more than 1,000, and spreading a wave of fear across the country. The bombings, together with the Invasion of Dagestan, triggered the Second Chechen War.[1][2] The handling of the crisis by Vladimir Putin, who was prime minister at the time, boosted his popularity greatly and helped him attain the presidency within a few months."

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Russian_apartment_bombings

The Chechens did many fucked up, horrible things after the First Chechen War. Instead of enjoying their independence, some of them went on Jihad and headed north.

Jihadist went into Dagestan and elsewhere after the war to stir things up. I said it before and I will say it again. Russia had to fight the Second Chechen War.

    The following happened:

01 September 2004 Beslan school siege

23 October 2002 Moscow theater hostage crisis

People have seriously questioned whether the Chechen blew up the apartments or the FSB did.

16 September 1999 Russian apartment bombings

In other words did the FSB operate like the FBI before the FBI became so God Damn corrupt? Steven D’Antuono just retired. He does not want to answer questions by a Congressional inquiry. He is of Gretch Whitmer fame. He is the second agent to to resign or retire. The other was FBI agent Richard Trask. If so many of the senior FBI agents in the Whitmer task force are so tarnished and if 12 of the 18 people in the so called kidnap plot where FBI informants, it makes you wonder all over again, if the plot would have gotten past a "Yeah buddy, Beer swilling Phase at a bar".

No I did not read the article on the Moscow shopping center explosion. I did not. But my second or third thought was that the FBI and FSB are so alike. I watched a documentary that questions whether the USG blew up the Oklahoma Murrah building. So, I give it a 33% to 67% chance or better than the FSB blew up the shopping mall.

If I were Ukrainian and wanted to hurt Moscow, I would not hit or try to hit a shopping mall. I would look at all the bridges or tunnels along the Trans-Siberian railroad and hit it in 2 or 3 places, if resources and security permitted.

The railroad is how Moscow is getting North Korean artillery shells to Ukraine.
The railroad is how Moscow is exporting pork to China.
The railroad is how Russia gets oil filed equipment to Siberia.

Hit the railroad and then hit some of the pipelines a little further east and might it take more than a few weeks to repair?

If China were to invade Siberia, I would think they would hit that very same rail road at the Urals and a few points east.

    The Bear and the Dragon

Yeah, shopping mall. Sure. I got a bridge to sell you buddy.

  4. Fucking amazing

A major event in Moscow and the headline for the Daily Mail is:

"Sport writer Grant Wahl was 'laughing and joking' just moments before he fell back in his seat and died at World Cup quarter-final game"

I never heard of Mr. Wahl before. Or most of the other 100 to 500 that liberals consider intelligent, important or saintly.

    Three things are interesting.

    1) That at 4 or 5 AM Eastern time this story trumps the Moscow blast.

    2) Before the shopping mall blast, it was interesting that a journalist would wear a gay pride logo in a gulf State. Activists wore them and I understand those people are 3 sheets to the wind. But a high profile (or somewhat high profile) journalist did and expected to get away with it.

I did not understand. I did not understand the liberal stance in immigration from Muslim countries, Islamophobia or any of it. Yes, I understand they are cowards. Every last one of them. I understand that they celebrate "Piss Christ" but would never do that to Muslims. They are 100% cowards. I just never understood how deluded they were. Activists yes, but not Journalist for the largest 20 or so newspapers and magazines.

The weaker America gets militarily or politically overseas, the less the American passport is worth. What happened to Griner in Russia could happen to Wahl or others in the ME. But they keep poking. Deluded.

    3) Was he murdered? Could be, but without an autopsy, etc it is speculation.

  5. Ukrainian or FSB, the end result is the same. Seems like a momentous event Reichstag fire or not, but so few comments.

  6. dear anti-liberal: here is a tip: Most intelligent folks do not pay much heed to The Daily Mail unless they find a copy in a public toilet while taking a dump.

  7. Dear Russki,

have been reading Daily Mail since the Obummer years, they use to print stuff American papers would not. put up with a lot. bad spelling. bad grammar, lousy exposition and a paper that looks like grade schoolers replaced the staff over Christmas vacation.

most major American newspapers are crap. you can fund the truth in an American paper but you must always be on guard and winnow out the falsehoods. the washington examiner is the only major paper worth buying.

happy days are here NYT j urinalists are on strike
