Reuters: World food prices hit record high in 2022
PARIS (Reuters) -A surge in the cost of most food commodities last year, as the disruption caused by Russia's invasion of Ukraine raised concerns of shortages, sent the U.N. food agency's average price index to the highest level on record.
The Food and Agriculture Organization's (FAO) food price index, which tracks international prices of the most globally traded food commodities, averaged 143.7 points in 2022, up 14.3% from 2021, and the highest since records started in 1990, the agency said on Friday.
The index had already gained 28% in 2021 from the previous year as the world economy recovered from the impact of the pandemic.
Food prices surged after Russia's invasion of Ukraine in February last year on fears of disruptions to Black Sea trade. T
hey have pared some of their gains since, in part because of a U.N.-backed grain export channel from Ukraine and the prospect of improved supplies in producing countries.

yeah and while foot prices are rising - thanks to the lockdown (2 weeks to flatten the curve lie) and the war - the WEF works hard to buy up all the farm land AGAINST the will of the rightful owners (small - medium sized businesses) FORCING them to surrender their property or else they take it. Thousands of farms in the Netherlands will be handed over to big corporations. And it's already only 4 corporations that control most of the food and general agricultural production.

the government works together with big agriculture, big pharma, big tech to silence you, impoverish you and take your rights.
And they are even taken over the education of children. If you disagree with the facist governments - from Australia to UK to Canada - they will take your children too.
It's not only wrong and has to stop, we have to hold these people accountable - and yes, including death penalties, were legal.
They have gone way too far.
Chinese govt sees this coming from miles away. The Chinese leadership have been on a stockpiling spree and now sit on 70% of global Maize reserves, 60% of global rice reserves, and 53% of global wheat reserves. Responsible long term planning.
