VOA: Iran Could Make Fuel for Nuclear Bomb in Less Than 2 Weeks, Milley Says

Iran could make enough fissile material for a nuclear bomb in “less than two weeks” and could produce a nuclear weapon in “several more months,” according to the top U.S. military officer.

Speaking to members of Congress on Thursday, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Mark Milley told lawmakers the United States “remains committed” to preventing Iran from fielding a nuclear weapon.

“We, the United States military, have developed multiple options for national leadership to consider if or when Iran ever decides to develop an actual nuclear weapon,” Milley added.

  3. there has been no Iran deal
    1. right wing did not want or believe in a deal with Iran
    2. President Trump withdrew the United States from the deal in 2018, claiming it failed to curtail Iran’s missile program and regional influence. Iran began ignoring limitations on its nuclear program a year later.

  5. Still have to shape it and machine or mill it but that could take 1 or 2 days. the actual Machining would take an hour or two.

Add a day or two to wire it.

  6. The Iranians were never going to honor a deal.

The awesomely terrible deal that Obasm had put military nuclear sites off limits. WNU pointed this out.

WNU points out that Russia keeps complaining and the West does not listen and the Russians at some point will do something.

Iran keeps attacking the Americans publicly calling them the Great Satan. At what point don't you believe your ears?

Above posts are too well written for the octo.

  7. let me be clear since there seems difficulty in understanding this:
If we had a deal with Iran, no matter what, but a deal. And they violated it, we would be in the right to attack them.If there is no deal (Trump decided this) then any attack would have no basis since there is no rule of law that says you can attack a nation for having or making what you yourself possess.
Now you can call Iran this or that. No problem. But that still does not give sufficient authority to attack them for making what you possess.

  9. "Hasent Iran been 2 weeks away from making a nuclear weapon for about 40 years now...."

Yes, been saying this since the 80's.

Then after gulf war 1, it was the mid 90's, then 2000.... and on it goes.

  10. Guess this is one of the reasons they put up the early warning command post Planes.

You know, if you bother to look back, in the last two to three years, the tensions have not been dialed back one bit. And there has been no effort to dial them back. And going forward, the West has only cemented the situation in place with certain fossilization actions such as blowing up the pipe line and having Putin declared a war criminal.

It is as if, some one or some group wants to make sure all maneuver room is cut off so the only path left is war, Nuclear war.

May you have good fortune in the wars to come.
May the odds be ever in your favor.

  11. Proponents of the US/Israeli position, please clarify for me why it is forbidden for Iran to develope a nuke when:

    * USA developed nukes first and used them twice against the people of Japan in 1945, killing thousands of civilians

*USA, Russia, England, France, Pakistan, India, Israel, and North Korea all have nukes

What moral right does the USA, the only nation to kill thousands with nuclear weapons, have to tell Iran they shall not have nukes?

Tell me please, I am listening...

  13. Admerica had used A bombs to End a war that started by an attack by the nation they bombed with those Abombs when it became clear that there was to be no surrender by Japan. By contrast, Iran has threatened monthly that they would destroy Israel. See the diff?

"The unusually warm weather and good conditions ensured that the bombing was highly concentrated around the intended targets, and helped the resulting conflagration create a vortex and whirling updraft of super-heated air which became a 460-metre-high (1,510 ft) tornado of fire."

Japan attacked militarily first in WW2 yes, but USA attacked Japan economically first, by imposing economic sanctions (embargoing oil to Japan)

Still does not give the US the right to use nuclear bomb against the civilian population of Japan. War crimes--but then again the victor never needs to worry about war crimes, do they?
