Russian Foreign Ministry Warns The US And Russia Are On The Verge Of An "Open Armed Conflict" After Kremlin Drone Attack

Zero Hedge: US-Russia On Verge Of "Open Armed Conflict" After Kremlin Drone Attack: Foreign Ministry

On Friday the highest ranking Russian official thus far to have issued a statement on the Wednesday drone attack which targeted Kremlin buildings which house President Vladimir Putin's offices said that the drone operation out of Ukraine was impossible without US foreknowledge.

"It's clear that without the knowledge of their minders, the terrorists from Kyiv could not have carried out (the attack)," Lavrov said while on a trip to India, in reference to Washington.

WNU Editor: Many in the media are expecting Ukraine to be launching their "great counteroffensive operation" in the coming days or weeks. If this does happen, the bloodshed and fighting will be enormous, and the mayhem that it will cause will make it very likely, if not certain, that it may spread to Ukraine's neighbors. If that happens, the likelihood of the U.S. and Russian military forces facing off against each other and maybe even shooting at each other is all but guaranteed.

  1. Putin is looking for others to blame for the inability of Russian forces to accomplish what was originally intended. That requires both NATO and the U.S to walk a VERY fine line vis-a-vis Ukraine. Worst case scenario is to become so involved that Putin's blame-shifting actually has some validity. Somehow I doubt the current administration lacks the deft touch needed to navigate these dangerous waters. In fact, for all I know the globalists/neocons/RINOs actually WANT an excuse for war. Whatever the case, it's certain that we the common folk are of little consequence to them, other than as useful idiots. In that regard, a huge percentage of the American electorate is playing that role quite according to script.

  3. Probably the first time I've seen the WNU Author's opinion resonate so closely to the official Kremlin strategy of "If you do this, we'll do this, so don't do this."

It's almost as if he wants Ukraine to lay down their arms and accept their new overlords. Ukraine is FORBIDDEN from doing their counter-offensive, because if they do it, it would mean WORLD WAR.

It's a familiar argument put forward by Russia who seek to blame others for the conflict they started.

If there's any doubt that the WNU Editor is a Russian stooge, well there's your proof. Along with a year's worth of opinion pieces on the war itself and pre-war that give a dark outlook for our not-so friendly Canadian-Russian correspondent.

  4. This boggles my mined:
    Russia invades Ukraine
    Ukraine fights back
But if Ukraine hits at invader's homeland, then a line has been crossed and those helping Ukraine ward off the invasion will be punished.
easy to settle: get the hell out of country you invaded and no one will hit back at you.

    1. NATO invaded first when it over-through the government in 2014 and installed a western stooge in Kyiv. What would the US do if China backed a coup in Mexico and installed a CCP puppet? Likely something very similar to what Russia is doing in Ukraine

  5. Some of you are missing the main point.

Which is, this latest incident of the drone and the expected counter offensive going sideways ( for either side) has huge risks attached to it.

    Bring it? Really?

    WNU is a Russian stooge?

    Really?

  8. When this counter offensive takes place.. which it shouldn't, that will likely be the beginning of the end for Ukraine. They are in no shape for this. Anyone who thinks Putin is going anywhere is a fool. Unfortunately for us... it's our leadership who doesn't have their shit together
