  1. China spends 300m and has something to show for it at the end of the day. New infrastructure. New universities. Scientific research. Forecast this out long term and it seems inevitable that they're going to surpass on every metric.

Now is the time to focus on self investment.

  2. I know a lot of people who have really been suffering financially for the last few years. I also know a lot of people who have had their dreams of owning a home and starting a family either crushed or pushed further back in life. Big cities around the US are struggling with homelessness, violence, crumbling infrastructure, pollution (ie E Palestine, Flint, etc etc.), massive personal debt, sky rocketing rent, and it goes on and on...I absolutely don't think all of this is the responsibility of the federal government, however, some of the problems--like inflation--are intimately connected to massive government spending.

I just find it incredible that there is always ALWAYS so much money to just dump into offense (er "defense") or to pour all over the world with or without accountability or even an expectation of return on investment.

When it comes to bullets and bombs abroad--for Repubs and Dems--there is always a blank check.
