Ukraine President Zelensky Gets Invovled In U.S. Presidential Politics

Zero Hedge/Epoch Times: Zelenskyy Questions US Presidential Candidates Calling For Ukraine Peace Deal: 'Are They Ready To Go To War?'

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, in a recent interview with NBC News, pushed back on comments from Republican politicians who are hesitant to keep bolstering Ukraine’s military against Russia.

Zelenskyy joined NBC News to talk about Ukraine’s ongoing counteroffensive and his requests for additional weapons and aircraft for Ukrainian forces.

During the Thursday interview, NBC correspondent Richard Engel asked Zelenskyy to respond to Republican presidential candidate Ron DeSantis’s characterization of the Ukraine-Russia conflict as a “territorial dispute” and fellow Republican candidate Donald Trump’s vow to quickly end the conflict and sue for peace between the two countries.

  1. I believe President Zelensky is right.

Part of it is knee jerk. Whatever one party is behind the other party does the opposite. It is stupid, I know, but it is also human nature or for that matter the behaviour of anything living. An ancient example is the Roman civil war between Marius and Sulla. There is absolutely no reason for that war other than who got credit.

Part of it is budget and lack of building popular support for various wars.

I consider the Democrats the arsonists, who now come to the rescue as firemen. You find such cases at the local level. I assert Biden and his cronies are just that at the international level.

Regardless, whether Biden had a hand in starting the war or laying the groundwork, the US has to win the war. I don't think a significant percentage of Republicans see this.

Prigozhin is correct. Russia is losing. Many fine, young Russians will starve to death in Kinburn, unless they are rescued by the Ukrainians. They say starvation is a bad way to go.

Any Russian rescue attempt will bring the Russian helos or ships under Ukrainian guns. Breaking cover risks being fragged by artillery or drones.

  4. If it were a Republican in office instead of the current Democrat, there would not be a war in Ukraine. If the price of oil remained $25-35 bbl there would be no way for Putin to finance an invasion.

But Biden cancelled the Keystone Pipeline, ordered the go ahead for Nord Stream 2 and cut US oil exploration by 30% and cut production by 15%. Biden pumped up oil prices to $100+ bbl and then surrendered AFG in humiliation.

If there were an unpredictable, pro American President threatening a violent response to an invasion, there would be no war.

Putin saw his opportunity in feckless US leadership and took it.

  5. Russians apparently need Ukrainians to come save them from starving. While begging the west for money to feed themselves? How can you be so deep down the fantasy hole?

  6. Oh boy. Guys.. the Russians ain't losing shit. And if Joe fucking Biden keeps pushing.. we are going to lose hard. Anyone who wants this to continue... honestly you're primitive and pathetic. No good is coming out of this and frankly this is the most irrational presidential administration I've ever seen. They don't do anything that helps anyone

I do not think it is correct to say one party is one way and the other is opposite. In everything but foreign wars it is true. But when it comes to war, both parties are the war party. There is a large minority of Republicans who are against supporting the war but they are a minority. They are the Liberty caucus type. The only way they would get their way at this time is if a republican like Trump or Desantos were elected president. I suppose that could happen but that president would be fighting his own party and everybody else in Federal government.

    1. You nailed it. Republicans are divided and that is why the Dems can and are ruling with an iron fist. Adam Schiff should have been made to pay millions for his Russia collusion campaign but the Right just can’t Fight dirty like the left. so the Demoncrats will continue to rule until the end.

  8. Good comments above. However, Zelensky should be circumspect before he ventures into political sewer waters. If he were smart he'd hedge his bets, but taking the Democrats' side in a presidential election could backfire big time. Besides, he needs to clean up his own government, which is full of corruption. Perhaps a legacy of the Soviet days. Everything the Soviets had anything to do with turned to crap. A reverse Midas touch. And Russian leadership is still a pox, an anal puss sore on humanity, just like China.

  9. Since his nation is involved with our nation he has a right to make remarks that are political. After all, how often has Russia inteferred with our elections?

  10. If Trump the president, he would kiss Putin's ass and do as he was told so Putin could go on to invade other countries. Trump has never said a bad word about Putin, China, North Korea leadership. He loves dictators. And sucker in US kiss his ass.
