US Poll Says 42 Percent Of Americans Say US System Of Government Is ‘Basically Sound’

The Hill: 42 percent say US system of government is ‘basically sound’: poll 

Forty-two percent of Americans think the country’s system of government is “basically sound,” a decline since late last year but in line with public opinion since the 2020 election, new polling found. 

A Monmouth University poll released Tuesday found that 29 percent of respondents believe the government is “not at all sound,” with Republicans more likely to think so than independents and Democrats.

  2. a tip: it really does not matter what folks say in a poll. Why? Some 75% of voters want better gun control laws and some 75% want abortion rights kept in place. And yet we do not have that!

  3. Polls suck. Very few are correct. How ,any people were polled in Havre MT or Dubois PA.
    Probably none.

    But look at the wording. It sucks. What the hell does basically sound mean?
    And remember who you are dealing with. A majority of Americans have a piss poor knowledge level. They do not know who FDR was or the capital of texas.
    HOw IN THE HELL can an uneducated populace determine what defines
    "Basicly Sound" concerning government and civics.

  4. While I appreciate what 1:10 says, he should remember that in a democracy, voters consist of a lot of educated people and a lot of not very well educated and some not at all educated. We do not give a test to determine in advance who will be allowed to vote.
