Politico: Judge limits Biden administration contact with social media firms
A federal judge in Louisiana ruled Tuesday that the Biden administration likely violated the First Amendment by censoring unfavorable views on social media over the course of the coronavirus pandemic, calling the efforts “Orwellian.”
U.S. District Court Judge Terry Doughty also issueda sweeping preliminary injunction barring numerous federal officials and agencies — including Surgeon General Vivek Murthy, Health and Human Services Secretary Xavier Becerra, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre and all employees of the Justice Department and FBI — from having any contact with social media firms for the purpose of discouraging or removing First Amendment-protected speech.

WNU Editor: This ruling is focused on the US government "telling" social media companies during the pandemic to "suppress" dissenting view on Covid and vaccines. But it should be noted that social media played a huge role in helping the Democrats in the 2020 election cycle (i.e. Hunter Biden laptop suppression to name one), and this is the real reason why two Republican state attorney generals filed this lawsuit.
The question that then needs to be asked is .... will the Biden administration respect this ruling? My gut is telling me that they will appeal, and they will make sure that this will be tied up in the courts until the 2024 election cycle has ended.
Update: I agree with Zero Hedge. What we saw in the past few years was "arguably the most massive attack against free speech in United States history", and they want to continue .... ReplyDeletecheck out Florida and some other red states now censoring books that are classics!
12:02 is classic. It is a classic, nebulous generalization with few details.
ReplyDeleteName the books.
Name the age groups that are affected.
I for one do not see why grade and middle schoolers need access to the latest issues of Playboy, Hustler or similar material. But our Russian troll does.
That ain’t no Russian, that’s a twisted, American made progressive wiredo right there. Go USA! Fu$&ing woke 🤡 🤡
DeleteIs there a difference between what a Russian troll would say and what an American progressive would say?
ReplyDeleteThere has not been a difference in 90 years. It is why the phrase "fellow traveler" was coined.
Fellow traveler refers to masons. It’s a very broad assumption the russian trolls and progressives fall into that category.
ReplyDeletefellow traveler
ReplyDeletenoun
1) One who sympathizes with or supports the tenets and program of an organized group, such as the Communist Party, without being a member.
2) A traveler who accompanies you.
3) A communist sympathizer (but not a member of the Communist Party).
Most people know very little about the Masons. So most people would not use the phrase fellow traveller in that way.
Most people do not know the phrase fellow traveller as referring to the above definition unless they are an ardent lefty and they resent the fuck out of people rightly calling them that.
Throw some more red herrings, bitch.

ReplyDeletehere is a list of some 350 books banned in Florida under DeSantis
ReplyDeleteMore Than 350 Books Banned in Florida Schools Since Last July
Now in my Blue state, if a parent objects to a book used in a class, the book is kept in place and the child of the complaining parent chooses a substitute book. That way, one person can not run the show!
want names of books banned by Gov D? read the link for the full list
Low IQ trash call me names...ha ha. A true trumpian tactic. But, trash dudes, I do not expect you to dislike censorship and to approve of banning books. Worked for Hitler. Worked for Stalin. And now you join them.

Florida Book Bans Are No Hoax: Here Are The Facts
March 10, 2023
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis set out Wednesday to “expose the book ban hoax,” claiming that only “pornographic and inappropriate” materials have been removed from Florida classrooms. His claims are false.

Dozens of books that include LGBTQ+ themes, protagonists of color, or that touch on race or racism.
DeSantis Claim:
Both the New Zealand and Australian governments are trying to get their own ‘Ministry of Truth’ off the ground.
ReplyDeleteNow the United States.
All three countries have left-leaning governments.
It’s all related.

Excerpt from plot summary
"Claudia, as narrator a final time, describes the recent phenomenon of Pecola's insanity and suggests that Cholly (who has since died) may have shown Pecola the only love he could by raping her."

Should "The Bluest Eye" be be banned?
Grade School: Yes
Middle School: Yes
High School: ???
College: Hell No!
IMO Fred Lapides or the troll imitating him is not capable of critical thinking.
ReplyDeleteWould Fred Lapides want his sons in 6th grade reading Lawn Boy by Jonathan Evison?
Simple Yes or No question.
I leave it to the Libary association and to the librarians and school officials to select age appropriate books and not to a governor who is out seeking support from the extreme right wing. I oppose a system that allows one parent to decide what an entire class or grade can read. I recall that what is perhaps the most important book of the 20th century was to be forbidden but the courts ruled against the would-be censor. No need to mention that title. I am sure you well informed kiddies know the one referred to.
ReplyDeletelooked at that list.
ReplyDeleteMost of the books are homo lbgt orientated or "dark" depressing subjects that only encourage depressive thinking.
Do we have a right to protect our kids?
Am I not my brothers keeper?
The problem is not the books. The problem is that most of the urban society thinks this crap is ok.
There should not be a "need for a ban".
In a decent, moral society, a publisher would not publish this crap and schools would not even consider having these books in the building.
Like I said, it is the world standing on its head. We have become the Godless cesspool. Weimar 2.0. Just look at Major Rachel jones from yesterday. That is america's future.
The Russians have become the bastion of Christianity.
I leave it to the Libary association and to the librarians and school officials to select age appropriate books ...
ReplyDeleteBecause the never fuck up.
Governor fucks up you can fire him or her in 4 years or 8 years usaully at most. you can get rid of them in 1 year.
But an entrenched bureaucracy of university educated idiots is hard to uproot.
Sure they have degrees, but what have we learned about how people are now eschewing college and goin directly to work after high school because university have turned into cesspools.
I would not brag about librarians. I know how those people are educated or lack thereof. some librarians are as good as gold and many others just go their bachelors-lite degree.
the logical fallacy 5:37 made was "appeal to authority"
What a fucking maroon.
