Taiwan officials have denied reports that a Chinese nuclear sub crashed near the disputed Taiwan Strait.
Rumors have circulated that a Type 093 (Shang class) People's Liberation Army nuclear-powered attack submarine had crashed in unknown circumstances at some point in the past few days, killing everyone aboard.
The reports came just days after China launched military drills near Taiwan intended to serve as a 'stern warning' against colluding with 'foreign elements'.

It would have to be pretty serious to kill everyone aboard would it not? The strait is very shallow and subs don't move very fast through it. The Seawolf that ran into an underwater mountain 2 years ago was way further to the South of the strait, out in the open sea where you're cruising above 20 knots. And even then, at full speed and far greater depths, there weren't any fatalities.

This is a good thing for the Chinese navy. Party loyalty matters. Factional jockeying matters. But now I would think skill will more highly valued than in the past. Lessons will be learned and training improved. I could be wrong.
ReplyDeleteThis very thing was predicted by the British psychic Craig Hamilton Parker just about a year or so ago. Uncanny. He also predicted that 2 nations will go to war, but only 1 will win!!!! Spooky. Keep ducking....
