Washington Examiner: Conservative group to debut ad opposing Ukraine aid during RNC debate preshow
A premier conservative organization is debuting an ad during the Republican National Committee primary debate preshow on Wednesday hosted by the popular conservative Ruthless podcast in the hope that it sets up continued aid to Ukraine as one of the debate's more crucial issues, particularly as candidates disagree about the path forward.
The Heritage Foundation's new ad on Ukraine aid is aimed at addressing a shifting mood among the public, the majority of whom don't support Congress authorizing additional funding to support Ukraine in its war against Russia.

Update: US ‘cannot afford’ to fund Ukraine war – think-tank chief (RT)
WNU Editor: The U.S. may not be able to afford supporting Ukraine in its war against Russia, but I see no signs in Washington to limit the flow of monies and materials to Ukraine.
A Russian pilot of a Mi-8 AMTSH defected with his helicopter to Ukraine few weeks ago. The chopper was transporting spare parts for Su-27 and Su-30M fighter jets. The operation was coordinated with the Ukrainian intelligence. The other 2 crew members of the Mi-8 were killed after the chopper landed somewhere in Kharkiv. The family of the Russian pilot was brought to safety.

ReplyDeleteWhat they're really saying is that if China invades Taiwan the US won't be able to afford two major wars.
ReplyDeleteMaybe 1:26 has it.
ReplyDeleteUkrainian war spending is on par with Afghanistan spending. Also, war spending is miniscule compared to entitlement spending.
However, these wars are existential so accounting gets thrown out the window. I hope the 30 million or more dollars that the Biden family stole was really worth it for the Washington elite. Biden looked weak, he was weak and so Putin scooched right in.
IMO if Russia wins in Ukraine the US loses reserve currency status. It may or will anyway, but in this case it will happen soon. So The Heritage Foundation should pull its head out of it ass.
I grew up in a country with currency controls (you could only take so much money out of the country). It has import controls IOT to control inflation and current account reserves. The currency devalued from 6 to 1 dollar to 20 for 1 dollar.
I am very aware that when a country's currency is not a reserve currency, you get massive inflation, when you print money like the Fed.
The so called elite in Washington should worry about this.
the "elite" or those elected as in our democracy in both parties have allowed what is currently going on. If you think we can not afford it you really mean I do not believe our money should be for that but perhaps something else or nothing at all.
ReplyDeleteto tell pro writers in Heritage House what they really mean is to accuse them of some sort of duplicity.
Fact: There are no constraints on military spending.
There are only ideological imagined constraints how who should get this aid from our military-industrial complex. Note that when budget talks come due in Congress military budget is either off the table or gets expanded upon. In sum: the conservative think tank cited here does not want us to give further aid to Ukraine. period.
Agreed and I would even add further to your point that we really shouldn’t be allocating money, intelligence, military resources, material, ammunition and technical assistance and technology for this cause! We are engaged in an all out geopolitical war and aggression against Russia for the sake of opportunity and and its fall nothing more!! It’s wate of blood and treasure for nothing just to take their border, sphere of influence, energy and economic dominance over Europe, and regime change that’ll only make the world more unstable
DeleteThere are constraints on military spending. There are constraints on how much some politicians are willing to spend so as to not anger some of their base.
ReplyDeleteMany leftists will get upset if the military budget grows. they have and will continue to argue to spend it on welfare programs.
If you do not think it is true look at war resisters.org

Many liberal groups have gotten advice or money form the Russians going back to WW2. So if war resisters got money from Moscow, it would not be a surprise.
Moscow does fund the Western green movement. They are not the only funder, but they do provide money.
the antiwar movement tore things up from 2004 to 2008. Then not so much. Meaning that part of it was astro-turf and not grass roots. still some of it is grass roots. It needs to be taken into account. I am sure the Democrat party will machinegun them all down when the time comes, when they are no longer needed but annoying.
You can have a reserve currency and be irresponsible as fuck, but still have to pay attention somewhat to deficit spending.
There are caps ion military spending.
if there were not then the average and worst case scenarios in the quadrennial defense review would be fully funded. They are not.
"I see no signs in Washington to limit the flow of monies and materials to Ukraine."
ReplyDeleteExactly. Just as there's no hurry in D.C. to restock the strategic oil supply.
do not show us a small site that dislikes too much money spent on military and conflate that with votes from Democrats and Republicans that are elected. The elected folks make the decisions and not a small group that dislikes such things. that should be obvious

WWII? fact:
trump got advice from Putin.
name names of elected officials who got advice from Russia on our military spending in the last 8 years! you are full of beans or vodka
