KXNET/Stacker: The US is presently involved in 15 ‘shadow wars’: Here’s where and why
STACKER — The ever-expanding American military footprint covers nearly every continent. While the United States has long had a military presence in other nations, the scope significantly expanded following the passage of the 2001 Authorization for Use of Military Force, which, in the wake of 9/11, permitted the support of foreign forces against various terrorist groups. The U.S. has since had 173,000 troops deployed in 159 countries as of 2020 and currently maintains at least 750 foreign military bases across 80 countries, according to the Conflict Management and Peace Science journal.
Stacker compiled a list of 15 “shadow wars” the U.S. is currently involved in and how those conflicts began, using various news, government, and investigative sources.

WNU Editor: Any predictions that this number is going to increase (or decrease) in the coming year or two?
Overstretched.Same problem the British Empire was faced with the sun never set......
ReplyDeleteAll empires have and will face this curse of being involved in too much active or passive wars.
ReplyDeleteHow Joe Biden is transforming America’s Asian alliances
ReplyDeleteOnce again
ReplyDeleteRead The Rise and Fall of Great Powers, by Paul Kennedy.
We will be involved in more wars as the world becomes more unstable...UNTIL>>>>
and it will happen,
the chickens come home to roost. 30+ Trillion in debt is unsustainable. The when this "Disney land for dummies" economy breaks down, we will collapse inward. The Gov will have a lot of "internal Security operations". right here at home.
instead of Kennedy. ( good read BTW) this is much shorter
ReplyDeleteAccording to the analysis of Sir John Glubb

The GOP for many years touted the budget longer except give more and more tax breaks for the very wealthy and cut any help for those in need.
ReplyDeleteSo people are comparing America to the British Empire.
ReplyDelete"Imperial presidency is a term applied to the modern presidency of the United States. It became popular in the 1960s and served as the title of a 1973 book by historian Arthur M. Schlesinger, Jr., who wrote The Imperial Presidency to address two concerns: that the presidency was uncontrollable and that it had exceeded its constitutional limits."
It is not much of a stretch from imperial presidency to empire. It has to be proven, but after Obama I, Obama II and Obama III, we can eye ball it.
My problem with people talking in dulcet, sage intonations is that Russia and China are Empires too. Empires do not run on a chronological set clock and all have a set lifespan. When Britain was an empire there were several empires. No one has made a case here as to why America looks like the British one.
It is also a disservice and misreading of the British Empire. The British royals held a big ceremony in about 1908. At the time they knew it was the apogee of British rule in India. Churchill was in "The Wilderness" in large part because his opposition to Indian nationhood not Gallipoli. South Africa, Australia, Canada and New Zealand were divested without bloodshed. So was India. Britain was only really thrown out of Yemen. It was not worth being there so they left.
Britain divested itself of Africa, because FDR was Britain's banker and insisted.
Britain could have kept it all if it kept India and become cosmopolitan by choice and not by incompetence and corruption.
That said America is pretty screwed since we have the dumbest people running Joe Biden aka TWD as a drone.
PS: The good part of being Joe Biden is he could walk onto the set of TWD at any time and not need make up or acting lessons.
I know immediately that a comment is without real merit if it simply blames this and that leader and in every case that person is a Democrat, as though Bush, Trump are somehow exempt from discussing.
ReplyDeleteDid either of those two GOPers withdraw from Europe and Asia? NATO?
^^^ Person who licks other people asses with their tongue.
ReplyDeleteJoe Biden et al have invited in 5 million or more people. Many of them or most of them are military aged males. That will not end well. Many of them are not brining any skills. So how are they going to be employed?
The problem with commenting here:
ReplyDeleteso many have nothing of merit to say so all they can do is badmouth Biden and the Democrats.
Why not offer something positive that your position has or purports to have instead?
After all: if all is bad, what is your fix? try the positive or high road and offer solutions so we can judge for ourselves what alternatives are available.
I understand Joe Biden's split vacation. There is a 6 hour time zone difference between the cesspool of the world, Washington DC, and Hawaii. A 6 hour time difference is hard on most people. For a geezer like Biden it would be a PR disaster. So what to do?
ReplyDeleteStop over in Lake Tahoe for a a few days to acclimate Geezer joe to the Pacific time zone. then onward to Hawaii.
But now how to get Joe back to DC without making him a total wreck? Why stop over in Lake Tahoe again!
Did it work? Somewhat. Joe still was a disaster. He compared the kitchen fire in his DuPont mansion to people losing everything in Maui fires. He fell asleep during a service. still they tried. At least he didn't scream "Brains!"

ReplyDeleteThere is something wrong with Joe Biden
Look at his chest. He is either sobbing or his chest is heaving to gasp for air.
You could measure the rise in fall of his chest in mm or inches and get a rough estimate of tidal volume.
Did he nod off with his eyes open? Don't know. but if he nodded off and his muscles in his throat relaxed it might have caused sleep apnea. that in turn of course cut off oxygen to the lungs. the body responded by the heaving chest to draw in more air.
Assuming he did not nod off, who has a resting heart rate and respiration rate when their chest heaves that much. Telemetry is not just for space missile launches.
You know the Russians and Chinese are poring over this video and drawing conclusions about Biden's health or lack thereof.
Maybe the dog handlers should just keep Biden out of public view?
Pres. Biden has work vacations. Had you been reading decent media you would know this. Now try learning about decency and stop being such a nasty person. Or, turn to 4 major indictments and jail that faces your hero, soon to be long a very long vacation.
ReplyDeleteBut Russia Russia Russia!

ReplyDeletePoint taken, but you do not need to be crude.
The rest of this mess, Yes you can blame democrats and definitely Joe. But you have to ask yourself what 4th Republicans done to slow or stop this social suicide that we now find ourselves in?
Answer. Very little. that is why they are a part of the problem and not true solution. That is why they have earned their place among the BLOB.
"what 4th Republicans done ?"
ReplyDeleteI have written that 50% to 75% or sometimes 67% to 90% of Republicans need to be kicked out of office.
Boehner was weak. Cantor was an absolute turncoat. He proved as much at conference held by the AEI in 2014 held at Sea Island, Georgia.
McCarthy is too weak to hold an impeachment. Facts do not matter to Senate Democrats so they will kill impeachment. But things might change when evidence is present and at the least you have the truth for the next campaign year.
Being crude has a purpose. It is not gratuitous. I have had great fun describing a certain commenter with out using one swear word. So being crude definitely has a purpose.
There is an indigenous tribe in the Phillipines that used or uses dogs to lick the buts clean. So that is a thing. Since WEC wants people to eat bugs, while they dine on beef and caviar, want to get rid of air conditioning, want to restrict air travel to a few hundred miles every other year (or third year, or once in a lifetime), I ask you. Can professional butt lickers be far behind. It would save on toilet paper. I also think the gay congressmen would enjoy it not least of all from the power trip it would give them.
this one no good and that one no good e they dems or GOP if NOT Trump. Get over it. Trump not only lost the election he is going to jail. then the mug shot mugs you buy with him need to be saved for your grandchildren for a show and tell at middle school.
ReplyDelete^^^ Looks to be the Frederick R. Lapides persona.
ReplyDeleteIf Fred was so sure of himself, why not publish under his own name?
Something funny about Fred's posts. His personal writing style is inconsistent. Is someone only half way copying is illogic and dread grammar? So we have dull Fred and his somewhat wittier and more grammatical copycat?
"To be valid, a federal election, remember, can have no more than 1/125,000 ballots in error."
https://www.eac.gov/sites/default/files/document_library/files/Voting_System_Standards_Volume_I.pdf
"The most stunning fact is that New York’s 2020 general election was certified as accurate with 338,000 more votes counted than voters who voted."
I estimated that up to 700,000 votes were manufactured in Pennsylvania in 2020. After reading about New York states records, my estimate was low by at least 1/2.
The US is not a republic and has not been since 2012 or 2013. Trump was a fluke or a last hurrah of the Republic. If the US is an empire, maybe people should empire shop to see where they can live comfortably or live at all.
You cannot say the US empire is well run if they have a cadaver as a front man and if they lose in Ukraine. it also has no borders and after becoming energy independent is not an energy importer with the elevation of the cadaver to power.
I want to see a picture of Fred eating grasshoppers and liking it.
So I read the posted article linked by WNU.
ReplyDeleteWow, WNU went to Timbuktu North Dakota to find something.
$ 67 million to Cameroon to fight Boko Haram? If that is an issue, I suppose WNU never did find a Pareto analysis he ever did like.
I am really disappointed Here the circus has already come to town and I was not able to buy tickets ahead of time.
You do not like North Dakota? Oh yes, that's fly over country. Nothing but deplorables down there.
ReplyDeleteY fing arrogant progressive purpled haired pickle sucking freak.
1) There is no more fly over country. None. The Democrats are bent on conquest. Democrats have been importing people there by the thousands in order to flip them.
ReplyDeleteMohammed Opened Fire on Cops, Firefighters for ‘Unknown Reason’ in North Dakota
The Islamization of North Dakota
The Islamic attack out of Fargo shows the impact of refugee settlement.
As an NGO, refugee resettlement, is great. You get paid by the Federal government, there is always a supply of refugees. There is no demand for the refugees, but they are shipped anyway. As the CEO of a refugee resettlement organization the quality of your product is irrelevant. If a CEO of company making the eponymous widget, the widgets have to work. If the refugees have poor quality and engage in crime, it is not a problem for the CEO of an NGO.
2) The comment refers to the small TV/radio market with this small TV station that picked up a story from a mysterious source called stackers.
3) What is Stacker? The name is ubiquitous. Easy to hide. One of my guesses is that is a Russia influence operation, which got its product picked up by a small market TV station, which got picked up by Russian propagandist WNU. Kind of a self licking lollipop.
WNU is very suspect.
Newly declassified US intel claims Russia is laundering propaganda through unwitting Westerners
ReplyDeleteWho is Stacker? why did a small market news station pick them up?
The US is presently involved in 15 ‘shadow wars’: Here’s where and why
Is WNU in on it?
Nice to see the Us is spending a whopping 67 million in Cameroon to fight Boko Haram.
Is the Us military trying to "Bring Back our Girls" so Missus Obama can be said to have done more than hold a placard while weeping? She is floated as a presidential contender.
