BBC News: How Norway outstrips US on Ukraine spending
The United States has poured more than a hundred billion dollars into Ukraine's effort to repel Russia's invasion, spending far more than any other nation.
But as President Volodymyr Zelensky comes to Washington to ask for more, there is growing Republican scepticism about funding the war effort.
In his Tuesday speech to the UN, Joe Biden made a passionate plea for the global community to not turn its back on Ukraine.
"Russia believes that the world will grow weary and allow it to brutalise Ukraine without consequence," he said.
"But I ask you this: If we abandon the core principles of the United States to appease an aggressor, can any member state in this body feel confident that they're protected?"

WNU Editor: The Ukraine sources that I trust are telling me that over half of this aid is now being lost due to corruption. It is almost as if everyone has come to the same realization that aid from the West is not going to be forthcoming as it has been in the past, and now is the best time to grab what you can before the spigot is turned off.
I can speak personally on how rotten this corruption is. I am part of a group that helps to send needed drugs and medicines to Ukraine. Specifically it goes to my father's home town that is south of Kyiv. We always had some losses, but our last three shipments of vital supplies just disappeared.
In other news:
ReplyDeleteRadio Svoboda released satellite pictures of the Russian command post of the Black Sea Fleet in Russian-occupied Crimea. The south wing of the building has been completely obliterated.
Does the Russian navy have a cloud network. Are the back ups? How dependent are the staff oh computers. Those computers are gone now. With a war going on, there would be 3 shifts. How many WIA or KIA?
doubtful
DeleteBiden armed the Taliban with $80 billion in forfeited materiel. And he's created a new massive arms/cash black-market bazaar that's gunning up Latin American drug cartels, terror cells and who ever else has enough BRICS or BIT COIN credits to buy a shiny new Stinger or Javelin.
ReplyDeleteHow much of what WNU said is a lie or hopium?
ReplyDeleteIf half of all aid is stolen and the Russians have not defeated the Ukrainians yet, what does that say about Russia? Without nukes and with such a poor showing would Russia rank 10th or lower as a military power?
If half of everything in Ukraine is stolen and Russia cannot defeat Ukraine in a year and half, it begs the question. Is graft in corruption stealing 50% of the Russian war effort?
Graft and corruption is a time honored tradition for the human species. Proof. It is why we have the novel "Catch 222" (see Ex-P.F.C. Wintergree). There is a play in the United States about knowingly shipping defective aircraft engine cylinder heads called "All My Sons". Graft and corruption is with us here today on America in the form of Joe Biden. Would he have attended Archmere Academy and help him become president, if his father had not overcharged the US Navy during WW2?
WNU has always been gloating about how the current Russian offensive was going to be the knockout blow. It has happened several times. So how should we believe him on this?
If 5% of the aid was stolen, I would be suspicious of the number. But 50%? Makes me suspicious of WNU.
With bank transaction reporting, this should actually be easy to track unless the CIA or official Washington is in on the corruption. Look Hunter Biden set off numerous red flags with his banking transactions and it was purposefully overlooked by law enforcement.
Unless the purloined funds are going to someplace like Cypress, Iran, Russia, China or somewhere, it should be all trackable.
Suppose a lot of aid is being stolen and people from DC or are being cut in for the action. To me the problem is not Ukrainians corruption, but Washington corruption. Washington corruption is not a reason to end aid to Ukraine.
Cutting aid to Ukraine to allow Eurasia to win will not fix endemic corruption in Oceania.
Lousy try WNU. You are terrible at your day job.
Says the biggest louse on the internet
DeleteRussia spent 75 billion on defence last year and 84 billion this year. Pretty sure that chart doesn’t count the value of arms and equipment sent. With that said Russia is performing incredibly well despite the rough start it had in the beginning.
ReplyDeleteLast three shipments disappeared. So how many more are you going to send to the crooks WNU? Love your blog and insights but come on, stop helping the bad guys now please.
ReplyDeleteThey will probably figure out another way, not quit like you would

Delete@1058, that’s not a troll you loser. There are lots of people reporting on the influx of Ukrainian wealth all over the world. Ukrainian Yacht buying sprees in Monaco is big news as well. My Condo unit just got bought by a Ukrainian “refugee” family who supposedly fled the war torn state. It’s a fucking joke just like you.

ReplyDeleteI never said Russia was going to deliver a knock-out blow.
I have said the opposite. This is going to be a long war. And that belief is primarily coming from the Russian side. The Ukraine side are hoping the war will end in a year or two.
The second Chechen war took 10 years. As long as the US spigot to support Ukraine continues, this war will grind on until the last Ukrainian who wants to die for his country has been killed/wounded/or captured.
As for corruption. It is interesting that with Zelensky visiting Washington today the press is covering this story. There is a reason for this coverage. Type in the Google Search engine "Ukraine corruption". You will spend the next year reading just a fraction on the coverage of this story.
ReplyDeleteYes--someone sending a message?
DeleteThe second Chechen war took 10 years.
ReplyDeleteWhich begs the question. If it took 10years for Chechnya, why take on a country that is bigger?
Population
Chechnya: 1,510,824
Ukraine: 36,744,636 (2023)
Ukraine: 44,000,000 (2020)
36 / 1.5 = 24 times
Ukraine is still 24 times bigger than Russia. But Russia is going to grind Ukraine down in 10 years or something.
To NATO, the EU, the US Chechnya is a small landlocked country. It is hard to get to. It is small. Some Americans would question, if they want to fight alongside jihadis.
Ukraine is large and on the borders of NATO. There is also sea and major river access.
The longer this goes on, the more people will have had it with Russia and Russian Fuckitude. You think it is bad now? Creel during WW1 was nothing. The Ukrainians can had such a PR effort use stuff like the SAM falling short and still win hearts and minds.
I know what Creel and Wilson did. I heard about from people born after 1970, who were not political at all and were not ethnic. This in a majority ethnic area.
The US spent 20 years in Afghanistan and left its enemy 100 times more powerful. Now do some liberal math on that ridiculousness

Condo bought? How much? Where?
Assuming it is true the family may have had the money in 2020 or before. So what changed?
The ease of immigration. My foreign born spouse has relatives in the EU, who over the years she has wanted to come to the US. I told my spouse have them come over illegally. Skip the 5 or 10 year waiting line fight and lottery.
What changed is the status to refugee. With the money they had before and the refugee status, voila.
I remember the video of a family fleeing the Russian onslaught and the family not being able to catch a bus in time being laid out by the vaunted Russian artillery.
You bring up "Oh No's they bought a condo. The network will show a grade school girl and her family laid out by the might Russian artillery. Figure you just lost the hearts and minds war.
You used a woke left wing search engine to research corruption of a country that it supports. Brain dead. The realtor told me who bought the place 265k in Alberta, and where they came from. I’m obviously making assumptions but I can’t see a Ukrainian bank allowing that kind of money to leave during wartime. Yeah I don’t like immigrant Ukrainians right now knowing how much money we’ve wasted on them and now I have to compete with them in the housing market. So fuck off
DeleteWord Problem
ReplyDeleteQuestion: Since Ukraine is 24 times bigger than Chechnya and it took 19 years for Russia to pummel little old Chechnya into submission, how long will it take Russia to pummel Ukraine like a pimp does a street walker?
Answer" 240 years
Ukraine is flat though.
DeleteI did not specify the search engine I used.
ReplyDeleteI am well aware that Google is corrupt. If I type in searches about Muslim this or that, Google will give me a time out. Is suppose since AI is integrated with search engines Google will call me out as Islamophobic and call 911.
265K in Alberta. Something to check out to see, if it holds up.
Canada? Canada is a fascist state. How dare you question leader Justin Trudeau. Canaduh, the country of euthanasia for the poor and despairing. Canaduh of the incredible shrinking military. Wait, I lied. It done shrunk. Canaduh has what about 6 frigates and 6 subs most not mission capable, when it was last checked. At least Australia is trying and getting somewhere. Canaduh is run by a Gavin Newsom clone, but without the alleged bastardicity.

ReplyDeleteUkraine is flat compared to Afghanistan. It makes counter battery and air defense easier.
ReplyDeleteUkraine is better at counter battery.
Does Russia make the specialty steel needed for armor and artillery tubes? Heard Russia cutback on investment in that area, when it retrenched.
Another Ww1 analogy other than trench warfare.
ReplyDeleteBritain had better counter battery than Germany. Britain won. Germany Lost Lost Lost.
The US has to make a choice:
ReplyDelete1) Pay Lockheed Martin to refurbish 1,000 outdated ATACMS and give Ukraine 1,000 ready-to-go ATACMS
2) Pay Lockheed Martin more money to dismantle the same 1,000 outdated ATACMS
The US doesn't lack (!) ATACMS - the White House just lacks courage.
this information has been very help[ful in understanding all things regarding war, money, oil, and condos.
ReplyDeleteThe ukies are going to lose this one. Sy hersh just came out with an article that the corruption is getting a lot worse. Why? Ukies see the writing on the wall. Steal harder before the Europeans and Americans shut off or slow down aid or before the bottom completely falls out of the ukie cause.
ReplyDeleteThis meandering conversation above is all well and not so good.
ReplyDeleteBut the bottom line is the ukie war machine gets weaker by the day. The Russians? They are doing ok, no great but ok. The situation is that time is on the Russian side.
The tyranny of production rates and economies of scale are on the Russian side.
You do not see them press ganging people in to the military, drafting the non qualified and going around the world begging for both weapons and ammo do you?
Yes they can go to the norks for 152 shells, but how about all their other systems? Seem to be doing ok. Ukies are still stuck in the 1st belt. Not bad after almost 4 months now. After fighting what one US expert said was the best equipped, best trained and best motivated army ......
Told you before, US trained forces have a really poor track record
The Russians are doing ok, not great but ok. They no longer have a Black Sea Naval Headquarters, but they are doing ok. honest.
ReplyDeleteAmazing footage of the Ukrainian missile hitting the Russian Black Sea Fleet HQ, today. The Russian air defense seems to be completely AWOL, destroyed or beyond capacity. Either way, we are witnessing how much sideways this war has gone for the Russian aggression.
ReplyDeleteSo promotion are fast for Russian naval officers. They need some more spiffy staff officers.
Take you chances at sea or take you chances at HQ.
So dear reader. Did you read the casualty list?
ReplyDeleteHow many dead? Two, 10 ? 20? Not that many
And not enough to make a real difference.
Odd thing about this, you would think it would have been a lot more.
Yep, big win for the z man. So far the ruskies have one guy missing. What did that building get hit with? What ever it was, not that much happened.
