Ukrainian oligarch Igor Kolomoisky faces charges related to fraud and the laundering of unlawfully acquired assets, according to reports from the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU).

CNN: Ukrainian oligarch and Zelensky supporter Ihor Kolomoisky arrested in fraud investigation 

One of Ukraine’s most powerful oligarchs has been arrested in a fraud investigation, state media in the country are reporting. 

A Kyiv court on Saturday ordered Ihor Kolomoisky, a key supporter of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s 2019 presidential campaign, to 60 days in pre-trial detention while authorities investigate fraud charges against him, reported Ukrinform.

WNU Editor: This is big news. Ihor Kolomoisky did not only provide financial support to Zelensky when he ran for the Presidency, but he was also the main financial donor that established some of the most private nationalist military units in Ukraine. The Dnipro Battalion, Aidar, Azov, and Donbas volunteer battalions to name a few (link here). His arrest has surprised everyone, including me.
