Rolling Stone: Trump Plots to Pull Out of NATO — If He Doesn’t Get His Way

At the very least, the former president wants to put the U.S. on “standby” mode — and undermine NATO’s principle of collective defense Donald Trump wanted to pull the United States out of NATO during his first term, but was repeatedly talked out of it by senior administration officials.

For a possible second term in the White House, the 2024 Republican presidential frontrunner is already discussing how he could actually get it done, if his demands aren’t met by NATO. He and his policy-wonk allies are also gaming out how he could dramatically wind down American involvement to merely a “standby” position in NATO, in Trump’s own words.

When the former president has privately discussed the United States’ role in the transatlantic military alliance this year, Trump has made clear that he doesn’t want the upper ranks of a second administration to be staffed by “NATO lovers,” according to two sources who’ve heard him make such comments. The ex-president has made these kinds of jabs at the longstanding alliance during conversations related to the ongoing Russian war in Ukraine.

  1. Trump is right. NATO has been raping the US financially for decades. No more under Trump. More of the same under Biden.

  2. NATO wants Trump to reconsider?

It would be easy if all members spent between the NATO guidelines of 2% to 4% of GDP on defense.

German army chief says service ‘stands bare’ from neglect as its forces are placed on deployment alert

Merkel and Scholz were and are real bastards. They had no intention of funding the military. Party membership (CDU, SPD or Green) does not seem to have mattered. Russia invaded Ukraine and the German parliament are like "Maybe we ought to do something about it"

It would not be too hard to get Trump to change his mind. A military parade by Sweden would help. The Swedes make some great equipment. If the tards calling themselves liberal in Sweden are embarrassed and apologize for the parade, it would ruin the effect. It should yeah we have a decent military, we won't start anything, but we will finish it. if the tards object to that deport them to Russia. They can become mobiks.

If the Europeans spend less than 2% could you really blame Trump for leaving?

    I would not.

  4. Mr. Lib like other American Jews is st the gun range practicing. He has a new found appreciation for trump.

So 6:22 must be a troll. Idiot troll should know the M14 has been cut. Supply trucks can use it as a MSR but they will have to maneuver around 2 burned out MBTs and a score or more dead bodies. 70th is going to go on restricted calories.

    The M17 is risky.

    The P57 adds many miles.

  5. I am wrong. The parrot is as stupid as ever. Parrot has not visited the gun range. Parrot is definitely on the left tail of the normal curve.

  6. 712 and 717 are out to lunch. look at what they wrote. it is a bunch of mixed up disconnected ideas.

Let's concentrate on one. The 70th division. the 70th division has been pushing the ukrianinas out of their positions and making head way. Zelinkies call to advance 500 meter per day is falling on deaf ears. If anything, they are losing more that 500 letters per day.

  7. Trump revitalized NATO by returning the Obama withdrawn combat power to Europe. He coaxed many members to increase their defense spending.
For that Germany and France missed no opportunity to sabotage his administration and his efforts.
USA doesnt need NATO except as an imperial power which we can no longer afford.

  8. Trump is fully of bologna. He, as with every politician, will say whatever is politically expedient at the moment to score brownie point with his constituents so they will send him more campaign funds.

  9. Kozaki Laheri is effectively masked.

Ukrainians are still in Krynki and beyond.

The Ukrainians still have the Antonovskiy and railroad bridge lodgments.

Unless Poima has been taken the M-14 is cut.

If Poima is not taken the M-17 might be cut too.

To stop the Ukrainians from advancing around Verbove, the Russians stripped Kherson of the better troops. Dare the russian strip the Verbove axis of troops to shore up Kherson?

  10. Ukrainians are falling back. They are losing both men and aircraft at a high rate. Their current loss rates are unsustainable. Their society will be lucky to survive the winter.
