The Average Age Of A Ukraine Soldier On The Front Is 40

Zero Hedge: The Average Age Of Ukraine's Soldiers At The Front Is Over 40

Former UK defense secretary Ben Wallace in a Sunday op-ed for The Telegraph urged the West not to pause support for Ukraine for even a single day, writing, "The world is watching to see if the West has the resolve to stand up for our values and the rules-based system. What we do now for Ukraine will set the direction for all of our security for years to come."

Wallace's piece is unironically entitled Ukraine is winning. Now let’s finish the job and claims that victory for Kyiv is not only possibly but even imminent if only the West keeps up its support and the Zelensky government follows NATO's guidance. Wallace admits that the question of manpower is not in Ukraine's favor, however.

Update: The Average Age Of Ukraine's Army (Moon of Alabama).

WNU Editor: My sources in Ukraine tell me that in some cases the average age is higher.

Sighhh .... the young men are gone. There is no pool of young men for Ukraine to draw upon.

On the same topic. I have been told by my Russian sources that the average age of a Russian soldier on the front is in the mid-to-late twenties.

No blogpost on the average age of a Russian soldier and definitely not one with the same dulcet undertones.

    1. Your comment sucks and is irrelevant. WNU is an alternative to the mostly BS coming from mainstream “news” outlets. If you don’t like what’s being offered, then why are you here wasting your time?

  2. I have to assume that these "averages" are made up since no data is given on how these figures are derived. Example: the editor tells us about his sources. How do they know the average age for the total military forces? utter nonsense.

  3. Read the article . Written by Ben Wallace former UK MoD.

He is pro ukie as you can get. So he would not be tossing out despairing news like this if he could help it.

What this means is, if it is true, That the truth about Ukrainian battle casualties?? It is a lot worse than reported. They say 500.000? Probably more like approaching 1 million.

and 408 , if you can find a "news article" on the subject of Russia's army average age , good for you and send the link. This article was published just the other day. If there is not one commenting on the Russian side, it certainly is not the editors fault.

  4. If 40 is the result, there cannot be another "higher" one somewhere else dear editor.

  5. 1 million to 270,000 (or less) RUSSIAN casualties and Russia is getting pushed back? What a fucking liar.

    ReplyDelete
  6. Both sides are full of BS on casualties. Putin can absorb a much higher toll than Zelenski. Guarantee their will be some sort of peace talks by next spring.

    ReplyDelete
  7. Higher toll or higher percentage? The two are different.

    You might be right.

Ukraine cannot give an inch of Kherson. If Russia insists, might as well go to general war including nuclear.

  10. Some of you all do not think...

If the data is bad, don't blame the editor, blame Ben Wallace the former head of all British defense. . He is the one who wrote the article and made the statement of "40 years average".

    The editor is merely reporting.

But why would ben Wallace lie on this one.?? Why did he not say the average age of the Ukrainians was 32 or 28, to make it look better than it is?

BTW he has access to material we do not have, he would not just be pulling this figure out of the air.

Just an fyi. the average age...because you have a draft...should be a lot younger , like 19 or 20.

But knowing these politicians I would err on the high side. Which means, if Wallace says the average age isn40 then it is probably more like 50.

and this is what I said...

What this means is, if it is true, That the truth about Ukrainian battle casualties?? It is a lot worse than reported. They say 500.000? Probably more like approaching 1 million.

  11. Gleefully reporting.

Most disinformation by media is done by omission. Hype somethings, ignore or downplay others. WNU knows his job.

    In other new

YOU CAN’T HANDLE THE TRUTH: Russia’s Roskomnadzor media watchdog plans to forbid Russian citizens from using virtual private networks (VPNs) by March 1, 2024.

    Trudeau will definitely copy it.

Does not matter to 9:04. He is a gooood booooiii. He is like Joe. He does as he is told.

    America will copy it too.

You are nuts. What. You can read the editors mind? You know what he is thinking?

Have you been diagnosed with delusional paranoia or delusional ideation? Do you see things that do not exist?

  14. "Shoigu’s choice of units could indicate he seeks to highlight Russian commanders who continue to follow Russian military leadership’s orders for relentless counterattacks."

"A Reuters report published on October 3 stated that Russian forces have embedded “Storm-Z” units within conventional Russian units to conduct costly counterattacks against Ukrainian gains in key sectors of the front."

Last winter I thought that Russia would drain its prison system of prisoner. Not having the cost of so many prisoners might be a net positive to the budget of the government, the economy, and society. I have reconsidered my view. Russia like other societies to an extent creates them. It is a feature not a bug. Consider San Francisco and motor cycle gangs.

Have you seen these Storm Z and other units. Watch them. Consider what happens if they survive and even if they are not violent, when they re-integrate society.

9:28 might as well as spit on these storm Z veterans if they survive. There is nothing good about 9:28. Full of vinegar and spit.

  18. It seems to be a lot of fake news, as adult men and women were revealed to be cowards fleeing the country, in this case young people and even teenagers are going to war..., a shame, especially the number of Ukrainian low is superior to the Wagner group and than Russia combined, the fiasco that is the Ukrainian army and this false war is already clear

  19. Russia monthly tank production on full (of shit?) war footing is less than the number of tanks it loses on average every 3 or 4 days.

"Russia has just one tank factory churning out 20 tanks a month, with demand outstripping production by a factor of ten, says report"

    ReplyDelete
  20. "Russia is losing around 150 tanks a month in Ukraine, and is becoming reliant on refurbished vehicles."

    Refurbished.

    With upgrades like thermal sights.

Still rather lacking all around in each department. Gonna runout of hangar queens to refurbish too

What happens to the personnel in the storage depots when there are no more tanks in storage>?

    Mobik bait?

  22. New photo shows Biden's dog Commander sinking his teeth into White House groundskeeper, 71

    Fucking clueless

The Bidens are so stupid. They want the benefit of a dog as a pet, but they take no time to train them.

When you have a visitor to your home, you tell the dog that those visitors are okay.

If I were White house staff I'd bribe the dogs with affections and treats out of the White House kitchen. It is not like Biden would remember.

    Joe must be very small.

  25. I wonder how this 40 years of age is determined. Wallace says "at the front". So is he factoring in the Territorial Defense Forces? Those are going to predominantly older men, and are locally based. They would make up a significant faction of the active front, holding defensive lines so the actual army can attack. But that wouldn't affect the average age of the actual army. And remember the Ukrainians need to keep a significant amount of forces throughout Ukraine along non-active fronts like Belarus and its border with Russia. Ukraine cannot put them all on the current front. So while I won't say his statement isn't true, I think there are a lot of caveats to it. In other words, while Ben Wallace may be correct that "average age of the soldiers at the front is over 40", that is not the same as the average age of Ukrainian soldiers is over 40.

Furthermore, it's only been recently that Ukraine has had to resort to conscription. For well over a year, they had plenty of volunteers. That they need to start conscription now isn't that much of a fault. Ukraine is now approaching the norm for such wars. In contrast, Russia has had to forcibly mobilize several times in that period.

Potential Ukrainian manpower is something along 10 million men. They are very far from running out of troops. At the current rate of Ukrainian losses, they could probably fight for decades. We all know the war won't last that long.

WNU Editor will use any source and apply any logic in order to make it seem the Ukrainians are losing. This blog has been a Russian propaganda/disinformation source for a long time now. ALways be careful is taking WNU Editor's analysis at face value. Right now, Russia's strategy is to make the West think Ukraine will lose so that the West will cut its support. All of WNU Editor's recent posts are trying to boost that narrative.

  27. Chris Is a neocon parrot, who has not been right since the war started.

He most likely is a USG info ops employee in a cubicle somewhere. Nothing he says should be believed.

You want figures of Ukrainians population and draft pools? Do not believe that 10 million men reserve pool crap. Go over to Moon of Alabama and look at the latest article there on it. It was an ugly eye opener.

And to say the Ukrainians are "not conscripting" people is an out right lie. But, as always, it is a lie covered by a shadow.

The shadow is the ukies do not "officially". conscript. No they dont.

They just track people in their intel systems and then send press gangs out to round them up. This is called " recruiting"

    Are you laughing????

Yes, you should be. You cannot make this stuff up.

This is just like that other Neocon out fit ISW saying, Putin ran a deception operation by demanding the Ukies be stopped.

This gets more insane as time goes on

Yes BTW the Ukies seem to be losing.....BUT It is ok because,

Billy Krystol and the Blob say.....it is the best money you ever spent, even though you lost......

. So go back to the craps Table and throw the dice again.

Another neocon lie and subterfuge to hide the truth.....they are losing on this one.

    and getting more desperate.
