US Officials Advising Israel To Delay Gaza Ground Operations To Allow More Time For Hostage Talks

CNN: US seeks delay of Israeli ground incursion for more time for hostage talks

The Biden administration has pressed Israel to delay its imminent invasion of Gaza to allow for the release of more hostages held by Hamas and for aid to reach Gaza, according to two sources briefed on the discussions.

The release of two Americans held by Hamas Friday signaled that more of roughly 200 people believed to be kidnapped by the militant group may be freed after they were taken during the group’s deadly attacks launched against Israel two week ago.

“The [administration] pressed Israeli leadership to delay because of progress on the hostage front,” and the need to get trucks of aid into Gaza, one person familiar with the discussions said.

  1. I wonder how many billions Biden is scraping together for Hamas.

  2. How many people know or remember that Justin Trudeau gave a Taliban member who murdered a U.S. soldier with a hand grenade 10 million CAD for having to spend time in Guantanamo? And here I am killing myself working in the patch only to pay 40% of my income to that loser. Hard to have any pride in a country like this. I most certainly would never fight for it. I’de even put on a Chinese uniform if they’d accept me.

Billions? Not a bad question to ask. Biden has already scraped together 100 million.

Biden resurrected the unhinged Obama administration plan of empowering a “Shiite crescent” — of Iran, Syria, and Hezbollah, including Hamas.

  5. Donald Trump wanted to pull the United States out of NATO during his first term, but was repeatedly talked out of it by senior administration officials. For a possible second term in the White House, the 2024 Republican presidential frontrunner is already discussing how he could actually get it done, if his demands aren’t met by NATO. He and his policy-wonk allies are also gaming out how he could dramatically wind down American involvement to merely a “standby” position in NATO, in Trump’s own words.

  6. All NATO members are part of the EU.

If the EU which is as around as large and rich as the United States want to cost shift the financial burden of a credible defense onto the United States, if they want to free load, then bluffing or actually going through with a pull out makes sense.

Many NATO purposefully failed to spend 2% of their GDP on defense. Germany was famous for failing and thumbing their noses at the gauche Americans. Merkel could not be bothered to spend 2% of GDP on defense, but she had money to spend on an immigrant invasion.

Trump was looking to balance the books. What a country spends on interest payments cannot go to defense or social welfare programs.

    Now 3:31 Go FUCK YOURSELF!

  8. 3:52; What, we can't afford this years $850 Billion dollars in interest payments on our debt and also provide the bulk of the defense of Europe? (sarcasm intended).

Trump and John F Kennedy cut tax rates and revenues increased.

The most persistent problem and one of the most major problems with the budget is baseline budgeting. It is guaranteed inflation.

But see what 5:23 did. They could not defend European defense freeloading so they attacked Trump on tax cutes and moved the goal post. Not so much moving the goal post as is was a no sequitur.

  12. The hostages should be dead.

People should be in such dread that the mere thought of taking hostage make them quiver in fear.

The hostages should be cremated along with their captors with a fuel air bomb.

    Do that.

Tell the world that is funerary rites for you people when they are kidnapped.

How many people will be willing to be kidnappers in the future?

To become kidnappers Hamas offered a free apartment and $10,000. Some if not most Palestinians needed financial gain to do the awful deeds that they perped.
