Axios: Top Biden official: Israel-Gaza war "could spiral" into bigger conflict
In a 7,000-word tour of the globe's future, White House national security adviser Jake Sullivan writes that amid Middle East peril, America needs a long-term "sustained sense of confidence in our capacity to outcompete any country."
Driving the news: "In the decade ahead, U.S. officials will spend more time than they did the past 30 years talking with countries that they disagree with, often on fundamental issues," Sullivan writes in the cover story of the forthcoming issue of Foreign Affairs, shared first with Axios.
Why it matters: "The world is becoming more contested, and the United States cannot talk only with those who share its vision or values," Sullivan writes.
* "The coming era of competition will be unlike anything experienced before."

F0reign Affairs is a semi-official publication IMO.
ReplyDeleteJake is half the reason we have these problems, but I am going to read his musings anyway. I will be shocked, if he bats better than Karl Marx.
Foreign Affairs is or was a serious publication. Recommended articles after this one are one by the walking vegetable and Samantha Power.
The last article I read in foreign Affairs was one recommending replacing the dollar as the reserve currency with a basket of currencies where the US would have drawing rights. I was against the idea at the time, But I like it now. If the reserve currency was a basket of currencies would the US be able to deficit spend. It would reign in Congress, special interests. I could be extremely wrong about that.

White House National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan Warns Israel-Gaza war "Could Spiral" Into A Bigger Conflict
ReplyDeletewow ya think? what a tard
If you look at all the problems they say they face today, every one was created by the USA/NATO themselves. Every "plan" put forth by these neo-cons like Jake has ended in absolute disaster, bar none. In an unbroken line dating back to the bombing of Serbia in 1997, under Bill Clinton in a real "Wag the Dog' moment.
ReplyDeleteIn other words, they only exist to attempt to "solve" the very problems they created. Or to put it another way, there really is no good argument for organizations like NATO to continue to exist, as the only end result will be more utterly pointless wars which inevitably create enough blowback to then destroy the originators. Which is where we are at now.
I would put the start of the downward trend as the assassination of JFK in 1963, when the Deep State killed a US President, and got away with it. It's all been steeply downhill since, gaining speed and momentum.
The world now stands on the razors edge of a total WW III, nuclear annhilation and the end of all life on Earth.
THanks a lot, neo-cons, job well done.
