France 24: Gaza conflict 'taking away focus' from Ukraine, Zelensky says

President Volodymyr Zelensky denied on Saturday that Ukraine's war with Russia had reached a "stalemate", pushing back at suggestions Western leaders were lobbying for peace talks.

The sprawling frontline between the two warring sides has barely moved in almost a year, with one senior Ukrainian official warning this week that the conflict was deadlocked.

"Time has passed, people are tired... But this is not a stalemate," Zelensky told a press conference in Kyiv with EU Commission chief Ursula von der Leyen.

The Ukrainian leader also rejected the idea Western countries were putting pressure on Kyiv to enter negotiations with Russia, amid reports US and EU officials had discussed what such talks would entail.

  1. The Ukrainians are waking up that they have been pawns in the US neocon game and in reality they are red headed step children.

    Compare the two sides.

Israel is rich. Can buy lots of weapons and sustain itself)

    It has plenty of manpower

Has a capable and professional army

Has lots of indirect fire assets

    relatively uncorrupt

Facing a much smaller enemy than itself ( at this time only Hamas)

    AND. HAS AN AIR FORCE

    Ukriane

    is poor

    no viable industry/ economy

Serious Lack of manpower (an now an army of substandard recruits)

serious lack of both indirect fire and ammo for those assets

at best a mediocre trained army (because the original army is mostly all dead or wounded)

    Serious weapons and ammunition shortages

Facing a much larger, wealthier, and capable opponent

Horribly corrupt on all levels ( therefore sucking away its strength like a vampire)

    and No AIR Force

So who needs western aid more?

Why definitely the Ukraine. That is clearly self evident.

Then why is the US focussing on the jews when the Ukrainians have sacrificed over 500,000 men and so much more and are now at the end of their rope? They need aid desperately.

Funny how the Ukrainians, engaged in a huge war with thousands dead and the country in shambles, have to beg, literally beg, for aid, but the Israelis, (when they have an small uprising) get plane loads of aid at a drop of a hat. (to include the most sophisticated weapons [THAAD] with a continent of US troops to run them.

And as far as strategic value for resources and location , the Ukraine is in a better position to project NATO combat power than Israel. Historically, Due to political implications anyway, the US has never been able to use Israel territory to mount a military campaign.

With all this in mind, Zelinski and the Ukrainians maybe able to finally see the writing on the wall.

    Figure that one out

    1. Israel will be capable of buying US weapons and tech for many years to come. The US is a corporation that deals in weapons and war. Israel is a much juicier plum to pick.

  3. But how is what I said "wrong"

Are the Ukrainians getting more support right now than the Israelis?

You mean that the ukrianinas got the THAAD system also.

No I am not wrong, but your pig-headedness is.

    Or are you just lying?
