Gaza Death Toll Has Exceeded 20,000

Washington Post: More than 20,000 dead in Gaza, a historic human toll

More than 20,000 people have been killed in the Gaza Strip in the war between Israel and Hamas, according to the Gaza Health Ministry.

Hamas militants led an attack on Israel on Oct. 7 that killed more than 1,200 people, according to Israeli officials. Israel’s response — an all-out bombardment of Gaza and a ground invasion — has killed almost 1 in 100 people in the Strip.

The Gaza Health Ministry said early Friday that 20,057 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli strikes since Oct. 7.

The number of deaths is far higher than in any conflict in Gaza in recent history. And it is higher than the estimated 15,000 Palestinians killed in the violence that followed the 1948 Arab-Israeli war, according to the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics. Palestinians call that mass displacement the Nakba, or “the catastrophe.”

  1. I believe these death toll reports the same way I believe the body counts coming out of Ukraine. (not at all)

The pro-Hamas propaganda machine is alive and well.

  2. That is exactly the problem. With out accurate data from either side, what is the reality of the situation?

But you do see the destruction of Whole city blocks.

The casualty rates are probably large.

What are the Israeli casualty figures for palistinians in Gaza?

Not publishing them? If not, then why?

  5. Any other wars in recent history have a 95% civilian casualty rate?

Remember when the big story of the day was the need to set up war crimes tribunals for the Russian leaders that are responsible for a war with less than 1% of civilian casualties?

I guess Bibi can sleep well at night knowing the same will never happen to him as long as his pals own 90% of all media corps and congress.
