My Comment:
I have never been a fan of Rep. John Murtha, but I do recognize that he can get things done .... or he can stop things from getting done. This tells me that he has a lot of IOUs, and as a result his fellow Congressmen will never butt against him.

Having said that .... it is clear that he is against many of Secretary of Defense Gate's proposals for the military budget. Will this bring about compromise and debate .... probably .... but what will ultimately be cut and what will be saved will ultimately be decided by this Congressman.

Read the entire post, it is both informative and enlightening.
