They have come to the end of a gruelling seven-month tour of duty in Afghanistan. But their journey home will not be a comfortable one.
The soldiers from 16 Air Assault Brigade sit tightly packed in long lines aboard a massive C17 Globemaster, one of the RAF's transport planes.
They are leaving from the airport at the allied base at Camp Bastion in Helmand Province. Every day, some 400 planes or helicopters land or take off - making it unofficially the fifth busiest UK-run airport.
