US-Made Stinger Missiles Have Likely Fallen Into ISIS Hands, Officials Say -- FOX News
U.S. officials with access to the latest U.S. intelligence on Iraq told Fox News it "appears likely/probable" that U.S.-made Stinger missiles have fallen into the hands of Sunni insurgents.
It is possible that the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) fighters acquired them from army bases they have taken over in recent days, the sources said.
The Stinger missile is a shoulder-fired surface-to-air weapon that is used against aircraft.
As ISIS forces have advanced through Iraq, concerns have increased that more U.S.-made weaponry could fall into the hands of the radical group.

My Comment: If there is one weapon that you do not want to fall into the hands of terror groups (aside from nuclear/chemical/biological weapons) .... it is Stinger missiles. This nightmare situation in Iraq is getting worse with each passing day.

The Iraq army has got to be the worst military organization in the history of mankind. And why the hell did they have stingers to begin with?

"And why the hell did they have stingers to begin with?"
That is an excellent question.
One possibility which I consider probable is Iranian influence in the Iraqi military and government. It would have been an easy way for the IRG to get a hold of some for study and reverse engineering. Of course they didn't forsee ISIS's blitzkreig and the Iraqi army's collapse whereupon their most sworn enemies have them.
The likelihood of a successful terrorist attack on the west went way up. With the sophistication and money this group has up to 420 people gone in an instant....I couldn't be angrier.
