Israel: Temporary Cease-Fire Starts Tomorrow -- CNN
Jerusalem (CNN) -- Israel has agreed to a 7-hour humanitarian cease-fire, according to the Israel Defense Forces, but a spokesman for Hamas says it's a no go.
The cease-fire is expected to start at 10 a.m. local time (3 a.m. ET) Monday, the IDF said in a statement. It would not apply to the areas in which Israeli soldiers are currently operating.
"The IDF will respond to any attempt to exploit this window to harm Israeli civilians and IDF soldiers," the forces said in a statement.
Previous cease-fires have unraveled early and this one might not even get off the ground as Hamas has not agreed to it, a senior spokesman for Hamas told Al-Aqsa TV.
He spoke Sunday, the same day the United States and the United Nations used the strongest language yet in condemning the latest strike on a U.N.-run shelter in Gaza, with Washington calling the attack "disgraceful."

My Comment: If this ceasefire lasts 7 hours .... I will be surprised.
I'm with you on this one. Well time to turn out the lamps and get some sleep. Get up and see what all these characters are doing tomorrow. With everybody seemingly having a good time shooting at each other, somebody better go check on the Mongols, make sure they're not up to their old tricks.
ReplyDeleteThere is no end in sight. Hamas has a fanatic ideology and does not care about casualties in the populace, but rather welcomes it as a political tool. Israel can not let it's citizens targeted by artillery rockets and mortars and tunnelborne deathsquads penetrating into towns ans villages.
ReplyDeleteHamas' reason d'etre is the "Resistance" and will not negotiate it away, since the money keeps flowing in from supporters, like Qatar and Iran.
While Hamas is not as extreme as ISIS or DASH it is not an enlightened liberal democratic organisation, that Western Civilisation wishes it were.
Is it a known fact that the Russsia Army currently has 20% of it's soldiers Muslim and will have over 50% in twenty years' time? Or that there are - as of 2010 - 44 million Muslims in Europe, excluding Turkey? And their demographics indicate a much higher birthrate that Europeans? When will the tipping point be achieved? They do not assimilate, so when will they start active measures to have Sharia in European countries. In England it is already recocnised. In Bruges, Belgium, Muslims are a majority.
Hey Europe! Get ready for the Caliphate! It may take 50 or 100 years, but it's coming.
Hamas and the Moslem Brotherhood (recently outlawed in Egypt) are the first line of the assault.
Does this sound stupid and Apocalyptic? Think again. In Egypt they waited 70 years and became the ruling party. In Turkey they ARE the ruling party, but very muted at this time; just wait....
What you do not WANT to see is the future that is now enacted here between Israel and Gaza.
We'll said ttmedical :)
