The Slow, Long Fight Against ISIS: Airstrikes, Failures On Ground -- Michael Pearson and Ben Brumfield, CNN
(CNN) -- Not weeks. Not months. Years.
That's how long nations entering the fight against ISIS may need to be prepared to spend on the battle, British and U.S. officials say.
British Prime Minister David Cameron told Parliament Friday of the likely length of the mission ahead of what turned out to be an overwhelming vote to send UK air power into the fight.
But, he said, what choice does the country have when faced with a well-funded, highly organized force known for virtually unmatched cruelty?
"Beheadings, crucifixions, the gouging out of eyes, the use of rape as a weapon, the slaughter of children. All these things belong to the Dark Ages," Cameron told British lawmakers.

Saqlawiyah is northwest of Aa Falluajh
Sejar is north east of Al fallujaf
Camp Mazra'ah is due (3.9 km?) east of Al Fallujah.
Camp Fallujah is east south east of Al Fallujah.
The southeast corner of MAzra'ah and the northwest corner Camp Fallujah touch.
Camp Fallujah had been used by the People's Mujahedin of Iran during Saddam Hussein's time. the U.S. military moved in after 2003 and displaced them.

To the west of Camp Fallujah is the Boneyard. That is a security perimeter nightmare. It would be a snipers paradise.
I do not believe that the journalists are giving us good locations for the overrun bases.
These bases needed a lot of work using bulldozers to clear fields of fire and other stuff. Check it out on wikimapia.
Either of the camps could have had small air strips built for light turboprop aircraft. Turbo props or helicopters should have kept those bases supplied at night.
There is nothing wrong with the average Iraqi solider except supply, leadership, and faith. if they had those they would give as good as they got. If the average Iraqi was defective then the Iranian revolutionary Guard should not be able to turn your average Shia into decent militia.
The Iraqi Army has (or had) nerve. Americans had mistakenly fired on IA thinking they were an IA vehicle was a SVBIED, but the IA never fired on the American Army. They held their fire longer to ascertain the situation.
