Toronto Star: Still want to go to Canada’s Grand Prix in Montreal?

It’s not too late to take in the huge June 5-7 party, but you better start organizing things now

It’s billed as the biggest sporting event in Canada, with attendance of 100,000 on each of its three days if the weather’s good.

The Canadian Grand Prix will be held at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve next weekend, June 5 to 7, on Notre-Dame Island in the St. Lawrence River on the south side of Montreal. It’s been held there since 1978 and will stay until at least 2024.

If you’re a Canadian race fan, it’s a must-see event and you probably already have plans to be there. But if you’ve not yet made plans for next weekend, it’s not too late.

WNU Editor: I am not a Formula One fan .... but a lot of my friends and associates around the world are. And since many of them have the opinion that Montreal and Monaco are the two best places to have this race .... I tend to have a few visitors when the race comes to Montreal. This is not an exception this year .... and I am now kinda/sorta swamped with people from around the world. Playing host and tour guide is something that I am never really keen on .... but since I get the same treatment when I go visit them .... it is one of the things that I have to do. So blogging will be light for the next few days .... Military and Intelligence News Briefs/World News Briefs will be posted at 17:00 EST.. If I have a chance, I will posting some pictures and videos on the festivities that happen in Montreal when the Grand Prix comes to the city. It is quite a sight .... city blocks are closed down, beautiful women everywhere, massive outdoor concerts, and .... of course .... exhibitions that showcase some of the most awesome cars in the world. Where else can I see a whole bunch of $1,000,000 Bugattis lined up together on a city block for a fan to look at, touch, and get a picture (inside) while having a feel of the car.

    I'm guessing there's a big security presence.
