FOX News: GOP wants to eliminate shadowy DOJ slush fund bankrolling leftist groups

The Obama administration funneled billions of dollars to activist organizations through a Department of Justice slush fund scheme, according to congressional investigators.

“It’s clear partisan politics played a role in the illicit actions that were made,” Rep. John Ratcliffe, R-Texas, told Fox News. “The DOJ is the last place this should have occurred.”

Findings spearheaded by the House Judiciary Committee point to a process shrouded in secrecy whereby monies were distributed to a labyrinth of nonprofit organizations involved with grass-roots activism.

WNU Editor: OMG!!!! $3 billion and counting .... no wonder progressive groups are freaking out over Trump's election and the appointment of people like Attorney General Sessions .... they are about to lose their pay checks and funding. Here is an easy prediction .... this is a big story but no other main stream news organisation is going to post this story.

  3. Not much of a professional article by Fox. No mention of any named organization or how much money involved etc...just a claim that there is a slush fund--how much? where? for whom?--and that this is being closed down. Will there be one for conservative slush funds? Fox has, alas, a track record that increasingly raises questions.

  4. Ok, so now we know the real reason for the Leftwing freakout over these Cabinet picks. Especially Pruitt (EPA) - is that the Obama DOJ used funds from federal penalties to fund progressive causes. I guess this will get shut down like yesterday. And the paid agitators who show up at GOP town halls - and airports - won't get their $1000 bucks anymore.

  5. Fast Freddy,

Rush Limbaugh covered this story also.

He is listened to by 20+ million people.

I did not listen to Hannity, but I am positive he mentioned the story.

The more you squeal like a stuck pig Fred, the more the story will be covered.

Go on squeal. I mean it. SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAL!

Then all the pundits will bring out the payments and the NGOs.

So I ask you Fred to squeeeeeeal.

    You know you want to.

  6. Fred isn't a troll and he's not a jerk either. He's actually pretty articulate most of the time. People disagree and light him up. I disagree with him. I read what WNU Editor said the other night and do agree with him. This blog discusses big things and ideas. Its news you just don't get anywhere else. it would be cool if commenters could try to effect more decorum.

  7. Fred issued a challenge.

He wanted to know which groups got paid and how much.

    This is good.

We need to publish the results of Obama's and Eric Holder's lawfare.

Then we will go to the polls.

  8. Russ is quite correct. I couldn't have put this any better myself.

When it comes to leftwing activists, evidence is demanded. This is good. Evidence needs to be presented. Unfortunately the same standards have not been applied to with regards to allegations against the Russians. It seems we are supposed to accept them on blind faith because the Intelligence Community, the media, or certain politicians tell us so. Given the extremely poor track record of these groups especially the Intelligence Community, it'd be unwise to take anything they present at face value. Evidence would need to be presented.
