Turkey Threatens Further Air-Strikes On US-Allied Syrian Kurds

Al Jazeera: Turkey threatens more strikes on US-allied Syrian Kurds

Erdogan says more action possible against YPG fighters in Syria, insisting US support for Kurdish group must end.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Sunday said Ankara was "seriously saddened" by footage showing US military vehicles operating close to the border with Syrian Kurdish fighters, threatening further military action against a group Turkey sees as "terrorists".

His comments came amid rising tensions over the weekend along the border, with both Ankara and Washington moving armoured vehicles to the area.

"said Ankara was 'seriously saddened'".
Really. Well now it's getting interesting. If one wanted to close off as many options available to themselves and completely isolate themselves, I can't think of Erdogan doing a better job than he has.

Will the Turks be buying from the Russians?

If they do, can they afford to ever again piss off the Russians?

Do the Turks want to run out of spare parts for American made equipment?

In 1856 & 1877 the Brits and the French denied Russia the opportunity to put Turkey in the dust heap of history.

France and Britain cannot do much now by themselves. So if the U.S. looks up at the ceiling if or when Russia and Turkey tangle wither Turkey?

Aizino,
I think one of Putin's goals was to break up NATO, with Turkey at the top of that list. Well it's happened, but if recent indications are true Russia would also like to deal with the US in some way or the other. Is Turkey worth more to the Russians than some type of cooperation with the US? Erdogan's behavior as of late makes it easier and easier for Russia and others to shun Ankara. The defeat of ISIS would also make Turkey's position that much less valuable to anyone in the region, except the US or Israel.

Certain journalists at the Wall Street Journal have been covering Erdogan and his party since he was mayor of Istanbul.

It has been like a slow moving train wreck. It is coming, but there is nothing that can be done.

I remember that jerk Bill Clinton doing nothing about Hugo Chavez I the last 2 years of his 2nd term. He did nothing and it has also been like watching a slow moving train wreck. Now that particular train wreck, socialist/communist control of Venezuela is reaching crescendo.

I told this story before. My father met 3 Turkish officers in Easter Europe in the 1990s. Everyone introduced themselves. The Turks asked my father if he was Jewish, since he had a Biblical name. While Erdogan might be the 'devil', the Turkish and Muslim ethnocentrism runs pretty deep in many parts of Turkey. It is just not Erdogan.
