The MOAB just dropped on ISIS in Afghanistan is so big it can't fit in a bomber and must fly in the back of a C-130. https://t.co/Ng6oBu9BWz pic.twitter.com/d0Jkl9A4HD— Stephen Losey (@StephenLosey) April 13, 2017
Stop being weird about the 11-ton MOAB. For some perspective, here is a B-52 starting to drop 81 1,000 pound bombs. pic.twitter.com/lm1DPyYFjs

I think the MOP massive ordinance penetrator is a little over 30k and it is capable to be dropped by B52, B2, B1.
The MOAB was designed as a replacement for the old vietnam era daisy cutter. Nothing that special. A thermometric bomb of much smaller weight class leveraging guidance would have been just as effective if hitting the cave mouth. I saw the vid and couldn't tell if it was a series of nearby entrances or if the angles prevented guided bombs effectiveness but regardless it is not uncommon procedure. If I recall old school Daisy cutters were used in the 01 Afghan invasion.

Good stuff I hope this fortells that the ROE in Afghanistan has been reviewed and made sane.
