Sputnik: Clapper: Russians ‘Genetically Driven’ to Interfere in Elections
WASHINGTON — Former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper on Sunday said that his "dashboard warning light was clearly on" when asked about whether he knew about communications between Russians and White House senior adviser and President Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner.
"I have to say that, without specifically affirming or confirming these conversations — since, even though they're in the public realm, they're still classified — just from a theoretical standpoint, I will tell you that my dashboard warning light was clearly on and I think that was the case with all of us in the intelligence community, very concerned about the nature of these approaches to the Russians," Clapper said during an exclusive interview on NBC's "Meet The Press."

Update: James Clapper on Trump-Russia Ties: ‘My Dashboard Warning Light Was Clearly On’ (NBC).
WNU Editor: His remarks that the Russians are "genetically" driven is at the 3:35 mark in the above video. The key paragraph ....
.... "If you put that in context with everything else we knew the Russians were doing to interfere with the election, and just the historical practices of the Russians, who typically, almost genetically, [are] driven to co-opt, penetrate, gain favor, whatever, which is a typical Russian technique. So we were concerned."
I do not know how to respond to this .... and this is a former Director of National Intelligence?!?!?!
In this same interview former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper says that his "dashboard warning light was on" .... after listening to him for the past few months, as well as former CIA Director Brennan, former National Security adviser Susan Rice, and former FBI Director Comey .... my "dashboard warning light" is telling me that these individuals were either directly or indirectly spying on the Trump team during the election .... and even after the election. And speaking of Jared Kushner .... it looks like the media's big Jared Jushner story that he had spear-headed a back channel to Russia may have a problem .... What Is the Washington Post Hiding About Its Jared Kushner Story? (Daily Caller). As to what is my take on this Jared Kushner story .... President Obama tried numerous times to open up back-channels with Russia (and vice versa) .... Inside Obama’s Secret Outreach to Russia (Josh Rogin, Bloomberg) .... so why all the sudden the focus on Kushner doing the same thing but never on President Obama. Media bias you say?
WNU,
ReplyDelete"and just the historical practices of the Russians, who typically, almost genetically, [are] driven to co-opt, penetrate, gain favor, whatever, which is a typical Russian technique. So we were concerned."
Well there you go, the science is settled.
James. I am still shaking my head. This is the view that the U.S. intel community has when they look at the world.
ReplyDeleteIf history is any guide the media is under reporting Russian active and passive measures to disrupt or subvert western societies.
ReplyDeleteMedia bias, yes. Most MSM reporters are too poorly educated or well read to fully understand the depths of Russian activity against the U.S. government and the E.U. The MSM is biased to under report what they cannot understand or have not experienced through travel or subject matter expertise based on advanced training or experience.
Genetic, no. Imperative, yes.
Clapper is a pompous, partisan political hack. Darling of the left wing press. Solely because he keeps thumbing birdseed into the Trump-Russia conspiracy machine - while simultaneously admitting that there is no evidence of any Trump-Russian conspiracy.
ReplyDelete/chirping birds eat anything.
The let wing does not have the talent or the imagination to make up this scandal. They are lucky that the right wingers have done it for them and then been so up front in their law breaking. The nice thing about the right wing is that they are so pompous about their greed and avarice that it can be seen without corrective lenses.
ReplyDeleteKeep the good stuff coming!
/snarling right wingers will devour anything in their grasp
Now, now. He did say ALMOST genetically, so it's okay. :P
ReplyDeleteAlmost a Lamarckian need...
ReplyDeleteHilarious! Trumps election has driven them mad
ReplyDeleteIf this was a professional boxing match you would hear the following:
ReplyDeleteIn this corner the favorite, Putin, a black belt in Karate, a knife fighter and survivor of a cruel system, KGB trained and tested.
In the other corner, Trump, a fat elderly man with a very large black belt, a wicked Twitter addiction, with no experience in the international ring. Trump has no discernible skills, English as a second language, and limited vocabulary.
Who would you bet on to win?
Well it wasn't a "check engine" light, just low tire pressure Calpper.

Nope, nothing to see here,
all "perfectly normal",
The list just keeps getting longer, day by day, week by week,
LMFAO
Despite having "invented" many of the actions the Russians used to interfere in the election,
ReplyDeleteThe US Intel community is not only pissed that many of their own techniques were used against the US,
But they are humiliated that the Russian's "sandbagged" them.
They never anticipated the "perfect storm", and believed that US Institutions and democratic traditions, were strong enough to prevent the Russian Coup.
They are just now starting to realize how weak, pathetic and fragile American Democracy is, but typically, are focused on the Russian interference, not the weaknesses in American Society and democracy that enabled the Russians to pull off the intelligence coup of the century.
I'd almost believe you Jay other than the fact that you have been dead wrong on almost every prediction since the election...you are still so far down the partisan hole that no one can hear you anymore.

DeleteDrip, drip, drip,.....
When words against another country comes to "genetically", they going to be racist.
ReplyDeleteRussia typically insert his agenda and interests on the weakness of other nations, when USA typically wage wars and crisis to penetrate all sectors of the dominated country.
The intel war is not over, but I think Jay got the point, Russia has used the West methods mixed with their ones against USA influence, like China has used neoliberism and free market coupled with some state economic-media control to use the greed of western capitals against us.
