U.S. Creating A Hostile Terrain For Taliban

Daily Mail: The US is reshaping the terrain of Afghanistan with bombs by using B-52s to collapse mountain passes and level potential cover

* B-52s are being used to drop 'dumb bombs' on strategically important locations
* They can destroy mountain paths, overlooks and routes through valleys
* That forces enemies to use routes that are easier to monitor and attack
* They're also used to destroy buildings that insurgents can hide in for ambushes
* Civilian body count has risen since Trump allowed such bombing runs to occur
* But the Air Force said it does everything it can to minimize collateral damage
* Other planes and munitions have been used but the B-52 and Mk 82 are favored

The US is using bombs to transform the very terrain of Afghanistan in an effort to deny enemies control of the battlefield.

A US Air Forces Central Command (AFCENT) spokesperson told The Drive that B-52s were being used to drop 500-pound-class Mk 82 'dumb bombs' onto mountain passes and cover in order to destroy the enemy's advantage.

'These terrain denial strikes are useful in enabling freedom of maneuver for our forces, elimination of cover and concealment by enemy forces, [and] affecting enemy pattern of life in such a way that allows us to gain invaluable intelligence on their networks,' he said.

At some point Afghanistan will need to be habitable for Earth-like life. So of course terraforming is the obvious solution.
