U.S. House Republican Intelligence Report Released: 'Donald Trump's Election Campaign Did Not Collude With Russia'

New York Times: Republicans on House Intelligence Panel Absolve Trump Campaign in Russian Meddling

WASHINGTON — Republicans on the House Intelligence Committee found no evidence during a monthslong investigation that the Trump campaign aided Russia’s election meddling, the lawmakers concluded in a 250-page report released on Friday that assails President Trump’s political rivals and criticizes the F.B.I. and the intelligence community for their responses to Moscow’s interference.

But in a dissenting document, Democrats on the committee accused the Republicans of prematurely closing the investigation out of a desire to protect Mr. Trump and asserted that eagerness by Trump campaign associates to accept offers of Russian assistance suggest “a consciousness of wrongfulness, if not illegality.”

The strikingly divergent conclusions closed a chapter for a congressional committee that, while charged with oversight of American spy agencies, has fractured into warring factions that often seemed to see the advancement of political agendas as their primary mission.

WNU Editor: The report is here .... Report on Russian Active Measures. No surprises in this report except one, and that it was former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper who gave CNN the Russian dossier while telling former FBI Director Comey to tell President Trump that CNN has the dossier in its possession (this is on page 107 of the report). More here .... House Intelligence Committee report accuses James Clapper of 'inconsistent' testimony on the Steele dossier (Business Insider). On a side note .... former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper now works for CNN.

"James Clapper who gave CNN the Russian dossier"

And Clapper is not in jail. He should be.

Also, I am really disappointed in Steele.

Did he actually go to Russia and interview people?

Did he leave the British service so he could do lucrative work for the political investigative company with about as much credibility as the National Enquirer? I'm not knocking the National Enquirer; occasionally it publishes the truth. And when it publishes lies, it is so carefully vetted by lawyers it cannot be sued most of the time.

Or was he pushed out?

Where is the damn tape. If they can't deliver the tape, they should suffer what they meant to inflict on others.

We've been promised a tape Damn IT!

16 months after the election and no tape!

They had a year before that!
